Yea Jmans told me the same thing happened to his....
Anyways, today we replaced the crank sensor with a spare that 01Steve had (may or may not work). The car didn't start. Pulled the rail and it's getting fuel. All we have left to check is spark.
So, any other ideas? Wiring was done correctly this time and another ECU is in there. The crank sensor just made such a likely culprit.

My recent no-start/crappy running was water in the gas. If you run your tank less than 1/2 full a lot in the winter, it can act like a flaky electronic somethingorother because you're trying to burn water sometimes. Buy a gas drying treatment or put a cup or so of isopropanol (pure, not rubbing alcohol WITH water) in the tank and let it crank for long enough to run any bad gas thru the lines. Having a charger or jump-start car handy wouldn't hurt if you're cranking a lot and remember to give your starter a rest, maybe 50% duty or less.
If you've been getting some intermittent rough running, that's a decent bet.
