OK so I figured it out. I got the tranny off now fing02.gif

Now that I can look inside the bell housing I can see where the pressure plate has rubbed along the inside of the housing. Not sure if it did while I was trying to get it off the block or while driving. It was making a slight rattling noise when you push the clutch in which made think it was the throwout bearing. But now that the tranny is off the TOB looks fine and the shift fork looks fine. Any ideas what might have been making the rattling noise? I am thinking of just going ahead and placing the TOB and clutch while I am at it. I will replace anything else if you all think I need to replace something else. Thanks

Almost there. The progress is so slow since no one around here works on Tibs and the shop wants an arm and a leg I have to do this myself. How do I know if the clutch is on straight? I don't think I did this right. I used the clutch alignment tool to mount it but I am having a hard time getting the tranny back on. I took the motor out of the car and am trying to do it that way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

wow.. you actually took the motor out just for this!!! Eyecrazy.gif

anyways, even if the alignment was done correctly, you'll will still need the tranny to move around to get it in (spline lines might not be bang on, on each sides)... it's best if you get someone to help you to do this
