100k miles, no problems so far. In a few days my turbo project will be done tho, and then we'll see how it goes... 02.gif

My auto went out at about 65,000 miles. Luckily I already had a spare motor and 5 speed trans. to swap in. So, looking back, I'm glad my auto gave out. smile.gif

This thread is gonna jynx everybody that hasnt had tranny problems, now the next time im driving my car im going to blow through my clutch.

And if you havent figured it out, im on my first tranny. I have like 47k. changed the oil to royal purple at 35ish. I drive pretty spirited but its usually easy on the clutch because im getting into gear relatively easily (not burning out) and then accelerating within the gears. Shifting still feels smooth, clutch will be swapped to stage 2 to hold more boost.

gotspeed... how much did you spend on the manual tranny (new or used?) and did you swap it yourself or pay for labor (and how much $) ?

I actually bought the whole Tib with a salvage title for $500. It was rolled though but had a lot I was able to use including the engine/trans obviously. I did the swap myself. Took about 16 hours total, completely by myself, only working 2-3 hours a day on it. Thats including pulling the motor/trans out of the junk tib, pulling the motor/trans out of mine, installation, wiring, etc. The only things I can remeber that I had to buy were coolant, engine oil, and gear oil. For a total of about $560 I think.

^He still has the stock clutch on there.

Im on my second tranny (automatic). I have a feeling the other owners never did routine maintenance with my tib so that might have caused the problem. I remember I saw the oil in there and it was dark brown and smelled burnt..I knew it was going. Got it changed at 46k and now I think I have about 52k on the tibby.Hopefully now my tranny will last a little longer but being that I have a turbo..lol I doubt it.

My throwout bearing went at 75k, replaced the clutch assembly and refilled the original transmission with redline-mt90. After that 3rd gear was grinding pretty bad, and during a race with an accord it went. I think it was just the shift fork, but I decided to just replace the trans with an '01 elantra trans.

My first and original tranny(2000) went out @ 40,000 miles. Blew 5th gear to pieces mad.gif

I am extremely hard on the car and the car gets ALOT of power shifting. Tranny seen 2 yrs of boost and 1 year of nitrous.

I know have a beta2 tranny from a 02 Elantra in now. When the gear box was opened up to install my LSD it looked to be abit more beefier fing02.gif.

I ran Redline oil for the first year of boost then switched to Royal Purple couple months later I lost 5th. Switched back to Redline for the beta2 tranny.
