I'm trying to give my auto away, if the person taht takes it is willing to help you out you can try that. Or come take my car for free and you have a donor car .

Town to town you are only 9 hours away ha!

i know 9 hours is a pretty far drive but...it's a free tras/full parts car just find a friend who's willing to take a road trip up. pay for gas and food. sleeping in the car is free haha. a day or 4 of work after that and you'll be back on the road with parts to spare.

im not sure because i'm pretty new to the tiburons but the trans should just be a simple swap,if i'm wrong somebody will chime in. But i'm deffinatly going to say that all the suspension, and what not will fit.if you could strip what you need/want then put it up for sale as a parts car.if the car is able to be driven home it's a steal. and if you could recoupe some money from parting it out/selling it as a parts car you could put that towards fixing your body

Auto transmissions need to be from the right year, they changed computers & controls a couple times. Manual will fit, from RD1 thru RD2 (and later with some minor modification to the mounts).

I got my parts car for $800 off craigslist with a broken timing belt. It more than paid for itself between parts used, parts sold, and then the car sold off for junk.

Everything on the rd1 and rd2 are the same aside from Head/tail lights, marker lights, front bumper, rear bumper and dash. Everything else is the exact same. Fenders are identical, doors, suspension, engines, and transmissions all the same.

If I'm wrong several others will correct me but I'm positive those are the only differences. Not trying to talk you into taking the car as I have others that are interested anyways. Just wanted to give you an option if you have the space/means to transfer and store a parts car.

edit --> fromt eh post above the tranny has to be the same revision. My tib is classified as a 99 tib even though it's 98 so I don't know if the 99 and 00 trans is the same.

a simple tranny swap like that should not even take a weekend, even for new guys. as long as you know someone with some knowlegde of fixing a car.
