it depends man... if your tranny is real bad and it needs a quality flush then you need to pay to get the high pressure flush..if its perfect and you just wanna change the oil then just change it...if its inbetween horrible and perfect and you wanna get a cheap flush then do what ultratibby said and change the oil...drive it around and change it again... its been answered you just arent reading good enuff
I am not really asking as much about if I can do it as much as I don't know what I am doing. I am sure I can probably do it, but I don't know the necessary components that I need to buy to service it. Will it be more cost effective and time saving to just pay for it to be done?
read what he said..
that means you CANNOT do it by yourself, because it NEEDS the HIGH PRESSURE (so unless you have one of those expensive machines in your garage...)
that means you CAN do it yourself...just change the oil on it
that means you have to PAY to get it flushed with the high pressure, then you can change the oil YOURSELF.
i don't think you're making the connection...
flush = NOT doing it yourself = paying a shop to do it.
changing the oil = doing it yourself = going to a shop to BUY the oil
to do it yourself all you have to do is drain the oil, then replace it with new oil...

Did they show you how much they got out?? Cause some places will only take out like half and replace it with the new stuff. Not doggin ya just thought I'd ask.
The $85 sounds more like it. There is a place in Buffalo that advertises constantly that a full tranny pressure flush from them is $79.99 or something.
