DTN, Yes, I'm talking about the electrical connection to the Idle Speed Control Actuator. Check out the link posted by JC01Tib a few posts back and he has it circled in the picture. When the car is at idle (rough idle since the car isn't running properly) and I unplug the connector it shuts off. According to your last post it's not supposed to do this? What do I do to check if it's bad? And how do I go about fixing it? Can you walk me through on how to set the idle and fix it? I don't know how lol...

Ericy, To answer your question a random misfire has popped up before as a code. I've cleared the computer several times by pulling the power connector in the fuse box and every time I start it back up within 2-3 mins at idle the CEL kicks back on flashing. You can also take it out for a short drive and the CEL will flash and then stay illuminated. I assume the flashing indicated the misfire?? At least that's what I read.

The IAC does not keep the car idling, it changes the idle. It makes constant adjustments to compensate for temperature, pressure and quality of gas so that the engine RPM stays constant, as a seccondary function, it floats the idle down when you rev the engine so the idle does not just fall straight down, third, it keeps the RPM slightly higher when you're rolling then stationary. I posted what you need to do. Set the idle higher so it idles correctly without the IAC, then reconnect the IAC. this would be more of a fine tuning thing then something that will correct your problem with the car though. At least up your idle so your car is idling without the IAC connected
