Default Re: 97 Tiburon vs. 03 Acura RSX type S PART 2 !!!!!!!

I have no idea what im talking about. I just noticed that in another thread people seem to want to disable the CVVT, on the newer model 4 bangers i suppose. First off that doesnt make sense considering things like vtech seem to make more power. THat said my suggestion now may be totally retarded...Would a CVVT head fit on our beta IIs and would it be helpful or harmful, or basically whats the deal with the CVVT?

Default Re: Poll: Riciest mod on a car

I beleive the main difference between the two BETA's is in the head and not really the block. So it should be compatible w/ both. Matter of fact I think jaws021 would know becuase hes messed w/ both versions of the engine. Do a quick search using him as the author and look for beta 2 (or II) and see what you come up with.

and the main prupose of Variable Valve Timing for ANY car is to reduce emissions, not for gaining power.

even on the hondas the Vtec is for emissions. It allows the car to be clean and almost emissions free for the 95% of the driving you do.. then when you go to WOT and high into the rev band, the Vtech engages the BIG lobes on the cam and allows the engine to really breath. If not for the change over, the car would all but be undrivable with such large cam lobes and the idle would be a pain.. not to mention all the junk the car would be spewing into the atmosphere.

hey, isn´t the CVVT Continous Variable Valve Timing, wouldn´t that be better than other variable valve timing systems? last I read the CVVT head was for 05 models right? how could it be moded to our motors cause isn´t it controled by a comp? lol lots of questions

No, you can't add it to your car, and no, you wouldn't want to anyways.
