squeeeeealing
No matter what I did I could not get the freakin belt to stop squeeling. So I took one of the soft blocks you use on a sander (to clean the belts) and ran it along the sides of the PS belt while the car was running. Fixed the problem and it has NOT came back yet.

I have the same problem, I was beginning to think that my pulleys were off or something.
I've replaced the belts, after about a weeks worth of driving I checked everything and tightened the belts back to a 1/4 of movment. And still one year later still having the problem. Mostly now when I'm trying to make a tight turn and the engine isn't reving really high.

wow... im glad im not the only one w/ this problem... my car just started to make the same exact noise. And i did the same sprayed WD-40 and it stopped for awhile then came back. I was going 2 just replace the belt.. Whats that cost?

I've tightened mine several times and it just won't stop! Anything else I can do? It only happens when the engine is cold... once it warms up it's fine... but when the car starts cold, it squeels for about 15 seconds.. .then it will squeel everytime I turn the wheel OR if I turn the A/C on
awwww dude, i sooooooooooooooooooo know that, i remember i turned on my A/C on and shit i thought the engine was gonna blow up, it took like 1 minue for me for it to be quiet, umm, but the problem DEFINATLY DEFINATLY FOR SURE, is that ur belt is too loose, i got a new one and like after 4 weeks of living with that godawful squeek, i tightened it a whole bunch and its been perfect ever since.
problem I found.. I run the Unorthodox underdrive pulley on the crank.. if I do not get the tension JUST right.. it will squeal all the time. Just remember though, once you loosen the lock nut.. there is the adjuster to get right.. when you are done and everything is running smoothly.. make sure you lock it all down tight or it will slip over time.
Hey Cdog,
Remember when mine was screamin like a banshee?
It had initially started out being the power steering belt, apparently, since it snapped on my drive to CA, but the pump still works today...so...
Then I picked up another squeel which turned out to be a bolt on the lower side of the alternator that was dangling, literally by a thread.
SO, check you're nuts n bolts!!

DO NOT USE WD-40!!!!! That will actually eat away your belts. It is too corrosive to use on rubber. Check your belts man, you may have to get them replaced. Check to see if the sides/ends are starting to fray, I did that to my first set. 02.gif
