RAM AIR huh?
The speed a person would need to be driving at to even notice a measurable gain is more than you can legally travel on public roads, and how would you measure it???on a dyno with a fan rolleyes.gif

Anybody know the where the high pressure spot is on the tib? anybone? anyone? bueler bueler?
You'd need the intake at the high pressure spot at the front of the car, which changes according to speed...if you have a *roving* intake, that would be a different story. rolleyes.gif

the only real gain from doing anything similar to what you're all talking about is the satisfaction gained from giving your vehicle a personal touch.

The time and money is better spent on other mods IMO

JMON i have a random/jaws style cai and my filter is right where the foglight hole is and i drive it in the monsoon rains we have and no water comes up but if you are so worried about it then just buy an AEM air bypass valve for the xtra security. if u want we can meet up and i can show u mine and help you make one

BTW does n e 1 know if its illegal to take out one of your high beam lights and run your intake to there?¿

Well after all this discussion I have decided to go with the random CAI. I am going to wrap it with heat wrap and run it behind the battery like the 2003 tib cai. It will drop into the fender under the fuse box area and then have a cone filter I just need to decide who's filter to use.
I don't plan on using an AEM valve since I am not using a ram air set up.

I have already made a shield to keep to keep the hot air from the engine area from entering the fender area where the resonator tube that was removed used to be. With out the shield the heat from engine compartment could flow right into the fender area.

The J@WS 01 intake system works real good because it has only one major bend, much shorter and the battery acts like a heat sheild. The only down fall is the battery relocation and the hole you must cut onto the body.

Here a Pic of my engine bay.

Here a Nice one I made for KayJai

Just an FYI, 1st and 2nd Gen batt trays need to be drilled a little differently
Found this out when we did mine, since it was the first 1st gen to get our CAI!

I just used 3* 90 degrees exhzust pipings and painted it with the Dupont anodized high temp paint.

That could possibly be the first setup i've seen that would work on an automatic. Can I get more detail?
THanks

Well I have my tubing for the intake. My air filter is ordered and is going to be a K&N XStream cone part number RX-4990 with integral velocity stack and a nice rubber nose to sit against the fog light opening. This filter is going to sit with the top up tight against the fog light opening for a small ram effect. The rest of the filter will suck the air from inside the fender. The cover for the fog light is going to be modified to seal the hole when it rains or snows, and it will go on off easily. I also have the black heat wrap ordered for it. I will post some pictures once everything is installed, and comment on how it feels.

Tubing came from local hose supply co.
