I picked up a adjustable timing gear anyone have some info, DIY, or basic info would be nice, I searched repeatedly. I.E. (Timing, timing gear, adjust timing, adjustable timing, adjustable gear, didn't come up with much or anything with some info on an install) I do remember redz saying something about himself picking up a adjustable timing gear. Picked up a few extra things while waiting on my engine to get to me.

Ground wires

Fuel pressure regulator

PRD spark plug wires

OBX underdrive pulley set

Summit racing header wrap (have aftermarket headers)

Dynomax hi-cat

Edelbrock SDT muffler

Reverse glow guages (already have some but I like the new ones better)

Black euro taillights (not the one with the big circle looking thing)

Right hand and left hand hood hinges (for new hood I am going to get from Flyryde)

Carbon fiber M3 mirrors w/ Led's

17' silver rims (have a pair of bsa 17' rims w/ a chrome lip but was looking to get a summer and winter pair)

Black pro-shift shifting light

OBX radiator hose

Adjustable Timing Gear

White Face AC HVAC overlays

Ark rear strut bar

Universal floor bar (not kspec one)

Thanks for the look.

I got one and didn't like the color so I sold it.

Be careful. OBX makes shit products. YOu might not be able to get the power steering pulley to fit. You MAY have to force it on to the splined shaft to create your ownsplines.

Ebay ones? I hope not, most of them are pure crap. You should have signed up for our discount with Erebruni, got one of the nice sets they sell at a HELL of a discount.

Those are huge. Wait till you see my sequential shift light, it's tiny.

OUCH. Again OBX sucks, but you definately should sell them and get the samco sport hoses. Do a search. You get 3 hoses, and way better quality and colors.

Yeah went on a crazy ebay shopping spree last night. Guess I'll be the genie pig and try the stuff out. I'll try my best to do a write up on every individual thing when getting installed. I'll definitly be taking pictures. For the mirrors I figured if they didn't look nice when installed then I'll just get them painted when I repaint the whole car. Yep two obx products, like I said genie pig I guess. To bad you didn't do the timing gear, sure you would of been a huge help. For the shift light, if its to big I'll have to see when it gets here but maybe I'll figure a way to install in dash. I figured I would put it left side in the corner, guess just have to see when here. Not seeing a lot of specific info on the fuel pressure regulator yet but still searching the boards. Can't wait to get the custom exhaust finished when I get the car up and in the running state. So many things can't wait to start putting the time in again.

Serious bro, sell the OBX hoses, you seem to like quality, and get the 3 piece Samco Sport set. Check out the pics.

The erebruni mirrors have about 6 choices, with some BAD ASS lookin mirrors.

Yeah quality is a big thing in my book, if it takes 10hrs to do something and doesn't look right. I'll scrap it and do the 10hrs all over again. Thats why for most of the car Im redoing a lot of stuff, plus I like change. My taste just changes from time to time. I'll check into those hoses and maybe pick them up. Then keep the obx's as a spare or something or put them up for sale when I get my clearing house & car parts going off ebay. I checked on erebuni site for the mirrors before I bought them. The pair I got is the same as one of their pairs they sell.

Alright so finally picked up a new engine. Taking out the old 97 tibs 1.8L tomarrow sunday. Will be putting the used running engine in wednesday. The engine I ended up getting is a 1997 elantra 1.8L. I carfax'd it and it had last reported 83,000 miles on the engine. Could be more miles hopefully not. Only paid $250.00 and got a little 90 day warrenty no charge. Due to the mods if the stuff breaks between then its still good just pick up another engine and try again. I have free reign of the junk yard, to bad there is never anything for hyundais or I'd hook everyone up with stuff.

Now onto my questions.

1. Should I change out any internals like the cam shafts. Changing out the elantras to the tiburons cam shafts. Is the tib and elantra the same engine completely?

2. I'm swapping out the intake manifold because I already ported out the tibs and powder coated it. I ported the head too, so I'll be switching that out also. Is there anything else that I should do??

Guess my biggest question is for the cam shafts and injectors are they the same or different? Thanks and I'm sure I'll hear something from redz.

It's the same engine either way, the 1.8 cams are the ones you want.

Your course of action sounds good my man. If you are swapping the IM out, might as well get a set of the Outlaw Engineering spacers and put them in there.

So redz are you the guy to talk about with the outlaw spacers? I'll be porting out the IM and Head soon. So pulled the engine and not only did I have one hole in the front of the engine by the oil temp sensor but directly behind the same spot there was another hole. Two holes and can see right through the engine, rods still inside luckly it didn't shoot out. I'm hoping the piston didn't mess up the head if it hit. If not I'll drop the other engine in drive it till everythings ported and swap it out. If the piston did hit then well I'll put off the engine running and take the head off that one. The clutchs pressure plate was jacked up the teeth persay were pushed away from the trans housing and two teeth persay were behind the middle hole (fill me in on the term if you wish). Sorry bout the lingo been out from working on the car for a bit and iraq can fuzz your brain sometimes.

So now going to be looking into a pressure plate the disc is perfectly fine. Either just the plate or a kit. OEM or a bit better than OEM will be fine with the horses I'm working at right now. Might be looking for a better flywheel also.

Also need a shift linkage boot, mine is cracked and crumbly.

Let me know redz about the outlaw spacers.

Now I'll have to wait till mid april for the C-wings Carbon hood, sucks but first things first. I've seen pictures of a guys on cardomain and looks aggressive but not on the way out aggressive.

So thanks for the looks and any input is always welcome.
