I learned how to scan for codes and clear CEL,but was wondering how you can determine what the code means?
What i mean is if i was to scan a car and a code like P1256 came up,how am i suppose to know what the code means?Is there a menu or index on codes?
I was also trying to check my TPS,Maf and other sensors but cant figure out how!
I double click on the gauge and i can choose my option on which sensor i want to test but dont know how to run the test on my laptop?
All it says is Set.
Im so confused Please Help

How do i test my TPS,MAF and other sensors?
I went to the DASH headline double clicked on the gauge and i selected the TPS and cant figure out how to run it?

 

Random,did you end up writing the OBD 2 guide yet?
I was starting to play with it but understand a bit not much.
First of all after a code comes up how do i check to see what the code means.
On the Status folder how do i do a continus and non continuis check.I pushed the UPDATE button and at the bottom of the page it says waiting for reply.
How long does it take to do this test.
It has An ET which i assume it means Estimated Time?what does this mean!!
I want to check for misfires etc...

What are the proper raeding suppose to be at like MAF,TPS,ETC!!!!!!!!!
I do know that the Tps should read anywhere from 9-12% open at idle!!

 

I've got the simple guide done, but I could not post it from work because my damn FTP software crapped out and kept crashing under win2k.

Thanks very much for your instructions.I was reading through your instructions that you wrote and im still a little confused on some parts.
Im still having a had time finding out what the code means.You said its in the bottom of the upper window!!
Please bare with me,i pushed the REQUEST button and the Code that came up in the Upper box was P1613,i know what the code means but i cant see it displayed on my Laptop?
Under the Top box which is Mode$03 it also displays the code in the bottom Left corner which says P1613 and underneath that it has a ? symbol.

Also what does Non-Uniform Code Library do?
It has Generic,Honda and Rover.
If i was to scan a Honda car do i select this mode?


Finally how can you see the flow of the 02 readings.
