new motor gona na tune.. no more FI for me.. what can i do?
I love how people say the Beta does not respond well to NA mods... just look at the HO redz quoted... 175hp... if you break that down, that is just UNDER 90% volumetric efficency.. there are VERY few cars that can hit that mark and even fewer that can surpass it. Yes, Honda is one of those.. but so is BMW.

Well really it doesn't man. Think of how much money he's gonna pour into it to get even 175. Quad Throttle bodies = 3K, headwork, ect, ect, ect.

wow damn thanx for all the replies so quickly... i apreciate all the answers.. but forced induction is out of the picture for me... i've already sold my turbokit... and i think i'ma just hit up the show scene instead of going for power...
I'll probably just get the new motor in and just slap on the bolt ons... 4-1 headers... catback exhaust...... does injen make an intake for my car? It sure would be nice to have that nice chrome intake... and maybe a zex nitrous kit for that once and a while happy squeeze of go. i already got the big huge heavy system in my car... i'll finish that up... hit up the shop for a bodykit and a paint job.. install some seats... and do other worthless no risk parts... anyways speed kills lol .
put thanx for all the input anyways.

speed doesn't kill, its that sudden stop that does.

i think i'ma go with the injen one.. looks ALOT better... loving the chrome idea... if only aem made a nice show quality chrome one
AEM Does make a POLISHED intake.....I have one.
and MAD-Machine, we would ALL love to see some High Output NA Beta's, But its really just not cost effective to NA tune the Beta. For the price of building a NA Beta to 180 whp, you could almost buy an Accent.
Checklist maybe?
Engine
- AEM/Injen Intake............................................ .....$203.00
- Mussa Exhaust........................................... .........$550.00
- KSpec Racing Headers..........................................$ 410.00
- KSpec Big Bore Throttle Body.................................$300.00
- KSpec Airram Intake Manifold................................$610.00
- XD/GT Cam............................................... ..........$120.00
- Namebrand Nitrous Kit (Preferrably Wet).................$800.00(?)
Other (RECOMMENDED)
- SAFC II................................................ ...............$320.00
- MSD DIS (no wiring diagrams, probably prof. install).$300.00
- 2nd Gen Eclipse GSX Fuel Pump.............................$025.00
- Higher LPH Fuel Pump then Stocker........................$200.00(?)
- New Colder Plugs and Wires...................................$90.00
- New Clutch/Flywheel (Stage I, maybe II).................$700.00
Thats near 4K... I threw in averages for shipping... I dunno KSpec shipping prices and such... but thats just a guess... So your paying 4k for like.... 175whp without nitrous maybe if its tuned right on that fresh engine. In addition to that, you could run around and buy better tires/lighter wheels and put carbon fiber everywhere, tear out unneccesary metal, etc. maybe an LSD and some headwork later on... and if your lucky with maybe a 50 wet shot you might get near 14.0 in the quarter, maybe mid 13 if you run well and lighten the poop out of it. Put 5,000 into like an SRT-4 and your runnin 500WHP on stock internals. Go figure.

Really? Sweet lol makes me wanna buy from em more tongue.gif I'm all over headers and all 3 strut bars once winter is over ; gotta save up some cash first smile.gif Bleh srry for off-topicness.
I want to tune my beta NA. However, since I have an accent, the results are not the same. Of course it is more expensive to tune an NA setup but it has some advantages. First, try building a "race reliable" turbo setup, it will cost a lot. It is not the same thing has a turbo setup to have fun on the highway or to go drag racing on the weekend. Second, throttle response. Yes you can built a turbo setup with practically no lag but it will never equal a well tuned na setup. There is also the personnal factor, I prefer NA to turbo for many resons, reliability, sound, feeling....
There is also the question of balance. The brakes/suspension/tranny setup will cost a whole lot more on a 300whp tib than on the 200whp NA. There is the cost of power and the cost of everything that should come with it that people often forget. When you know that power plays a very small role in lap time....I rather tune my beta NA.

VERY LUCKY
thats why the Turbo is more worth it
whats the deal with the quad throttle??
Or get the Highest comp. pistons that you can get and swap in a 4 weber carburator set up with velocity stacks... 8O If I wanted to go the weekend warrior/acceptable street road, I'd consider it 8O
The carbs would have to be custom fitted of course and a custom carburator manifold made. But hey, with high comp., a lumpy set of cams and the carbs properly jetted the gains would be enourmous.
Just a thought. (Saw it on a friend of a friends CRX... INSANE)
