Default Re: cuda kit

hey.. i was working on my suspension and i accidentally pulled out the drive shaft out of its sleeve and then some sort of fluid came pouring out (im assuming its gear oil) ..
i put the drive shaft back in and it stopped the leak.
now my question is, what do i do now?
do i have to refill the fluid? how do i do that if so?
and what do i fill it with?
and i cant get to a shop right now so can i still drive my car?
is it safe?
any info on this will help..
thank you guys!

How much fluid did you drop? Also, do you have an automatic or manual transmission? I don't know shit AT. For MT, you'll need GL-4 gear oil - Redline MT-90 recommended. I know for MT, there's a big nut on the side of the transmission (17mm or so I think), unscrew that, and pump your fluid in.

DO NOT USE "GENERIC AT FLUID"
Use the Hyundai stuff or Diamond ATF+3 ONLY!!!
Trust me.

Yes the bolt is under the car, you'll have to jack it up some, no more than if you were changing your motor oil.

http://www.hmaservice.com/webtech/

Go to that website, enter your car in, and lookup how to change your gear oil. It'll show you pictures and directions on what to do.

I suppose you could just top it off, if money is tight, but you may as well change it all to be safe. The hmaservice website says 2.25 US quarts.

The bolt for putting fluid in is mounted sideways, so it's a bastard to put in without a pump. You can buy one at your local autoparts store for like $2, or you may find a usable one around the house.

AT = Automatic Transmission

Lucas = Oil Additive, a particularly good brand.
