Hi Airborn, here I am with my question again...
my car is a 97 Coupe, destined to the southamerican market where there were no emission restrictions at the time; so... my ECU si a Siemens with serial number: K103955221B and the Hyundai part number is 39100-23580 or 39110-23580 does that help you determine if you can tune a spare ECU like mine? (remember my car has NO O2 sensor and the injection cicle is open loop with a reostat to help regulate a little the injection).
My car has intake, AirRam, 1.8 cam, Maintec 4-2-1 header, 2,25" exhaust line and I ran on 97 octane (RON) at all times.
Let me know if you find info on my ECU; and also how much would you charge me to send an ECU (of course it can be a used good shape ECU retuned) without me sending mine...

Here's a newbie question from me. Since this combo will raise our RPMs by what looks like a lot won't we need different springs on our valves to work with it? No flaming the newb it's just a question.

Sorry for the delay guys.

tdonnell- I believe the 1.8 ecu and 2.0 ecu are the same, just a little different tuning. The 1.8 is a little leaner which is why some people have reported gains

schlick- PM me or catch me on AIM and we can talk more specifically about your setup. My AIM ID is: loveiirun We've got a couple solutions for you.

long- We can tune your setup as well. You won't see as large gains as the 2.0L guys, but that's only due to displacement.

Zman- I'm checking into it. The 1.8 cam won't produce much more power, you'd be better off with the 240 cam.

tiburonmoo- perfectly fine question. Stock springs/valves will be fine

In comparisson to the 1.8 cam, which has barely 8° of advance vs. the OEM cam, how does the 240° cam affect torque in low rpms? Because I feel I have given up all I can in low rpm torque with the 1.8 cam and the low restriction exhaust; I wouldn't like to loose one more bit of torque on the lower end because the car is still my daily driver and in urban traffic it's not comfortable to drive when you need to get over 2500 rpm to feel your power; however if you tell me I won't be given up more torque; I would consider it.

Your car stays MAF. All you have to do is change the cam and swap out the ecu.

Yes, I'm taking orders.

If you want 270 I/E cams with the ecu it will be $1200 USD.

Sorry for asking this question again but what power increase would we see with the 270 cam(s)?
