Motor Swap
putting the question (why) and answer aside, I've read somewhere over here in this forum, that the Delta weighs only 20lb more than the Beta if not less.
So, what if weight is not the big issue here; if it were the same, and you could get it from a yard at the same price you can get a Beta, what then? (and please don't go to the FI side of the things, not all of us are going that route for several and very different reasons...) As an experiment would it be interesting? Or it would be just pointless no matter what?

delta is an aluminum v6... it does not weigh that much more than the beta..
as for your suggestions for engines. The Mitsubishi engine in the 3000/stealth would fit... but the supra is a STRAIGHT six.. not a V.. it would be too long.

While it responds better to basic mods (I\H\E), most lightly modded V6s put out between 180-200whp, the cost of buying the engine and dropping it in would outweigh the benefits IMO. Once again the pain of wiring the car would become apparent, although it should be easier than a 4G63T as its still a Hyundai motor, maybe.
Pain in the ass factor outweighs the gain factor.
Good luck finding a low mileage 3000GT\Stealth motor for cheap, they get snatched up very fast and are hard to come buy.
