I know for a fact the Koreans did get a 2.5L V6 from an older sonata to fit.

I remember seeing pics of that, looked rather interesting... wonder if they're still floating around.

But yea, its usually a good idea to stick with the motor that came with your car you have if its half decent.

for the amount of money to swap it and and aggrivation, you could swap the tranny and probably have a 250whp car for the same price and aggrivation fing02.gif

Swapping the GK would def not be worth it, as a low cost turbo set up would easily eclipse a delta swap, modded or not.

If you could swap a hyundai motor into the tib, it would be nice to see the new sonata V6 in there, as it puts down 265 and you could definatly be satisfied with just the swap, modding it would yield great numbers smile.gif

But i dont know how much work that would take so if your 1.8 is on its last leg your best bet would be to just get a 2.0 and boost.

hehe long, realisticly, you're talking about $10,000 or more worth of a bunch of labor and problems. without a turbo we're nothing. and with gas prices soaring up, your engine is fine right where it is.

i wish i had a damn turbo setup... but when you look at insurance rates (heck if they have to know what's under the hood) and gas price, i'm going to be a the ricer those corvettes know me to be!

I have an Alpine Supercharger for cheap if you want some extra hoove though. other than that i like your idea on how to avoid 93 octane fuel yet still get over 201 horsepower from a hyundai engine. but it's near impossible unless you got some welding/mechanical wizards.

nah there really isnt a noticible difference from the 1.8 and the 2.0

but

if your gonna look for a new motor get a 2.0 cuz there newer and you can find lower mileage engines

there really isnt any different installs for the 1.8 and the 2.0

the harnesses even connect
