I would give both mechanics another chance to get a good look at the axle seal, as I was running them over at 55 MPH. laugh.gif

Majik, Hyundai mechanics do have a special tool for axle seals. It's in the shop manual as well.

^ ^ I wasn't aware of that. Regardless, I'm sure dozens of our members (myself included) have installed new seals without any leaks.

If he replaced the whole cv axle there would be a new seal on it. I can't imagine he would take the old seal off the other axle and put it on the new one.

Ah, I thought he was talking about the snap-ring seal on the end of the cv axle.

that c-clip is not a seal, it just holds the axle in place
