I don't think it should, its only enlongating it another 3-4 inches if that. What is this metal you are talking about from Home Depot? I guess its easily malible stuff. And no, the radiator is sufficiently behind it and I don't think it would heat the air up.

I like that HVE intake, I have some issues with its fit, its a little big. Other than that its nice, great sound too.

I don't like these metal CAI that go all the way to the ground...if you want to talk about heating up the air, then run a 4 foot metal tube all the way across the engine bay so it can get all toasty hot, and don't forget to add a couple of 90 degree turns to slow down the air velocity...sorry, but I am not sold on these CAI intakes.

yeah the metal from home depot is just thin aluminum sheet metal. you can buy it all sorts of ways at the depot just plan out how much you would need to redirect the air and go hunting at home depot. you can cut the stuff with a good sturdy pair of scissors. you shouldn't have to cut enough out of the upper raidiator support to lose structural integrity. I would also make a cap for the top of the radiator support that forces the air that comes up the hole directly into the intake.

and 90% of your airflow for the radiator comes from the lower grill opening so your temp should be fine.

quite shameful cos ive placed this pic up 3 times now!but are you talking bout the same kind of scoop as shown in the bonnet of the red car below? You can get that for £35 ($50) from a company called RSD in the united kingdom, dont know how much the shipping would be though

How do you suppose they will keep the temps down inside the car without dragging in 3 tonne of dust and cr@p if they remove the roof vent. That cars not done for show.

HVE used to sell "rally" hoods with that vent built into the hood. They use a 100% stock steel hood and cut the vents into the hood. They went for about $400 US funds, but add in shipping for a big heavy hood from Oz.
