So I decided to bite the bullet and aquire a Beta II Tranny. Its from an 2004 XD with 28k miles on it. I also decided to get an ACT Clutch Kit and Chromoly Flywheel. This will be the project for the new few days. I have done two clutches myself so I know all the little problems that arise. I just need to get some Redline MT-90 and new seals and she will be ready to go in. Also I need to find a grinder or bits for my dremel. Here are some pics. I will be taking alot throught the process just for reference and for anyone else that might need them.

Well, i cant return my kit now since it's past 30 days. I'll just have to contact Prostreet to check if they can get me a sprung six puck clutch disc. I guess it'll cost me 100 shipped >

Has anyone found anything better than Redline MT90? I just order three bottle from Jegs.com I read/heard its the best so I went ahead and bought some. If not I still have enough Royal Purple left over lol.

I have used redline mt 90, royal purple, motul 50% synthetic, motul 100% synthetic (which by the way can't be good for our trannies, in 5k the oil came out silver, the color of my car, and you couldn't see through it - that happened twice in 10k, the second time I had to drain it because my trans housing cracked), and the OEM 75/85 which is only available at the dealer.

Suprisingly, the OEM stuff is noticably thinner, and doesn't smell hardly at all of gear oil like all of the others, and shifting is just as smooth if not better. I say go OEM all the way from here on out, but it is up to you. Costs 15 a quart from the dealer.

I just had to resort to using my 1.8 trans in my 2.0 tibby, so the gears are a little shorter, anyone know which trans will fit that has the tallest gears for a beta? My 2.0 trans could do 64 @ 3k, the 1.8 is at 60 @3k.

Is there any way to do a 6 speed trans? What are the gears like in the trans you have, and what is required to make it fit?

Thanks for any answers, sorry for so many q's.

I have heard the gears are a tad longer for the beta 2 and it takes minimal grinding (as in 1mm) to get it to fit correctly. Im not sure where exactly. I will find out when I get there but other than that it should bolt right up.
