how to know what engine - 2.0 or 1.8?

the 1.8 block has rd18 on the front..

But yeah.. internals are different. The head is identical, except for the cams.

Alternator is 90 like the 2.0. Everything else look visibly the same.

Too look for the imprint on the block look to the left of the oil pressure sensor..

I can take a picture later on tonight of both blocks...

hey jaws im pretty sure you have the betaII tranny, i know the the axles on the 2.0 mt rd and gk are the same but, the gk has an inch more in track than the rd. did they gain this from the axle length or somewhere else?? cuz im thinkin the axles are the same. but im hopping beefier too....
