Accent GSi With your smaller 1.5 or 1.6 Motor 2" is probably okay, but I would think about upgrading it to 2.5"

Smthnfishy-
It would be impossible for that to happen with a tibby. The Filter "hides" in the fender well. so there is no way for directed water to reach it. You would have to submurge the nose of the car in 6 to 8" of water to get water in the intake.

SHARP 90 Degree bends are bad. If you can smooth those bends out, do it. Even with the 90 Degree bends, the fenderwell is better than in front of the tranny.

weel i installed everything and the car was slightly louder. At the beginning I felt a little difference(i think) after like 10min the car started to stutter. So i took it all off and threw it in the garbage. I just kept my Cone Filter on. I noticed that were my filter was, in the back of my fog light, water could get in fairly easy, and dust too. I live in quebec lots of rain and crap around here. So i just put it back on top. I'll sleep better. smile.gif But it was fun trying to do it though smile.gif

Thanks to the people who helped out.

Yeah, Im not to pleased with my results either...When from a mandrake 3" pipe down to near the tranny <to start> then red the post about the fender..so I cut....

Used all 3"
2 90's
Mandrake from the origanil setup
a few smaller straight tubes
cone is facing foreward into the foglight <empty; just plastic piece in there>

Once on a "test" drive the cone fell off so I was running for a little while w/o a filter @ all...cone didnt go anywhere <still Attached to PVC <no room to excape>

Those first pictures post.....thought:

Did the fender guard fit mack into place fine? When I put the 3" tube to where I cut my hole, I had to use a 90 right there or the filter woundn't of fit. NO WAY! So I added a 90 and a very small tube to fit my cone....Front <narrow part> part of cone is almost touching the front foglight plastic insert....would trying to get it sideways be better? Or is this way better? I need a car project for tomm. so please someone advise..thanks..

MAndrake/madrel <3" chrome pipe>

I have that chrome pipe that has a 45ish degree bend to it and it goes down to the tranny area, then a small <like 3 to 4 inches> PVc pipe to connect to the chrome pipe and to the 90 PVC, straight <about 5-6 inches> PVC, 90 PVC, short <3-4 inches> PVC pipe then my cone.

so total:

1 man. pipe
3 straight tubes <pvc>
2 90 pvc
1 cone

now like I said:

will moving to cone to a side profile be better than a front proflie. Currently the bottom <smaller diameter> is facing the foglight inserts <plastic>...straight on....almost touching..it didnt look like "my" cone would fit like yours did <with one 90 rather than two like mine....our cones look the same though...maybe i should take the tire and that fender guard off and try it...would it be better "performance" ?? once again...project for tomm.......l8tr
