Hey whats up peeps, well today I took my car to my buddys shop and had it compression test, well here are the results, let me know what you guys think.

All cylinders were in the range of 160-170 compression @ 165k miles.

Everybody @ the shop was all surprised that the lil beta 1 still had plenty of life in it.

Compression rings are starting to wane, and I assume it probably goes through a quart of oil per oil change, but that's still not a bad result for the mileage.

I had 195's or better across all four cylinders when the motor came apart just after 100k.

LolZ!

My compression after the new "9:1" forged pistons, decking the block and planing the head was still in the 190's if that counts tongue.gif Another reason why I have a feeling this motor will be fun on (lots of) boost...

I haven't done one in a while. At 95K I had 202-205PSI across all cylinders, after 15000 miles of low PSI (8) boost.

well now knowing that my compression is pretty good all around am going to leave the block alone and jst build the head, titanium valvetrain etc, and change all the gaskets inside the engine and go from their.

That titanium is going to cost you a pretty penny, i hope your planning on running a good amount of boost for it even to be worth the money invested

Um... Foserious? If you're looking at things like titanium valvesprings, what are your goals? I'm pretty sure you'll need forged/low compression pistons before you even touch the head internals.

Hey I jus tested my compression today too. First test was after the car had been off for like 5 mins. It was 220,210,195,185. I ran another test right after that and got... 230,225,210,195. So it was a lil different. I then waited like 5 mins, ran the car for like 2 mins and then tested it again. This time the results were alot different. 230,230,230,235.

Unless I did something horribly wrong then I dunno how I got those results. The motor has roughly 125k miles on it. Is this good or do I have worn piston rings?
