Thanks Russ, thats exactly the answer Ive been waiting for. wink

I emailed Crower and I am waiting for a response to see the prices and the 1.8 rods. I already have saved about 2700.00 saved for my project.

(off topic)
Its just I need my car running soon cause im tired of not being able to drive it. Its been out commision for 1 year and some odd months now.
All because some punk bit*h hater punchered my oil filter with a screw driver and the oil came out thus me driving home and engine locked up then blew.

Alright, with that question answered whoses' pistons can I purchase that would give me around 9:1 compression, using the 1.8 crank and 1.8 Crower Rods? Kores, K-Specs, Ross.... etc???

If I'm not mistaken, stock IS 9:1 or 9.5:1. If you're going to run a turbo you'll want 8.5:1 and in which case CNK has pistons for about $250 but they're not forged. I am not sure though where to get forged pistons for the beta. Maybe someone else can help you on that.

stock 2.0L compression is 10.3:1
Stock 1.8L compression is 10:1

You can buy "anyone's" pistions and go with ANY CR you want. Do a search man rolleyes.gif , you'll find out that there are MANY companies out there that make many different styles of pistions in MANY differet CR ranges... rolleyes.gif

[QB]Hey KillerShark, are you going to raise your redline? If not, you don't need an aftermarket crank. End of story. Aftermarket 1.8 rods DO exsist but they're a custom job. Random can tell you about those. Him and I will probably be going in on a mini-group buy for some of them in the near future (not sure when due to finances). But the only aftermarket cranks out there are simply light weight which cuts down on engine mass letting it rev quicker. If you're not trying to raise your redline above 8000rpm you really have no need for one what so ever.QB]
I vaguely remember reading something about HP being derived from an equation something like RPM * Torque divided by some number which I can't remember. Anyhow if this is so, wouldn't raising your redline to 8000rpm increase your HP and if so what if any would be the negative repercussions of this?
