Default Stock Exhaust restrictions...

Ok, I will start by saying that I am not too sure if this counts for you non-UK guys, but have a look....

On the stock Exhaust, between the stock pipe and the back box is a small plate that narrows the tho bore down to about 1 inch... Undo the bolts, remove the plate and Bob's you fathers brother... Slightly louder and less restrictive exhaust smile.gif

I have no idea about exact gains from this, but it has to be good smile.gif

any chance you could take photos for us? I'm not sure what you mean by "black box" in your exhaust system.

Back box = Muffler smile.gif
Ok, one of my Patent line pictures here smile.gif No pics as I have no Camera sad.gif

Right then...

CCCCCCCCCB|BMMMMMMMMM

C = Stock Centre Pipe
B = Brackets/Flanges where the Centre Pipe joins the Back Box/Muffler
M= Muffler

Anyway, see the line between the 2 sides of teh brackets? There is a Disk in there like a gasket, that resticts the availbe space from the stock pipe size down to about 1 inch....

Clearer??

As I said, it might only be on the UK cars, as I am sure someone else would have spotted it before now.... But it is there on my 2001 Tib...
