Painting Spark Plug Cover
just prep it really well. using a red scotchbrite pad will suffice for these parts. color opinions are up to you and no one else. using the duplicolor paint IMO is the only non option. its really good paint and comes in a shitload of colors.

Just to clarify about my question on the CAI, I was referring to the actual piping on the intake, should that still be fine? I can't think of why it wouldn;t, except that it's metal and I don't know how the paint would work on it.

Ah, even better smile.gif, Thanks for the info
Ok, so I looked up the duplicolor spray paints, and found what I need, except I don't think they make the right color green to match my engine cover to my car. Anybody know where I might could find some? A friend of mine in body work suggested a couple places locally that I'm going to check out, but any online sources would be appreciated
I wasn't sure if this should be in it's own topic or not, sorry

Unlike some other boards *cough*newtiburon*cough* we don't mind if someone opens a new thread OR if they revive a dead one. Unless it's a dead caption thread with broken pictures wink1.gif
Duplicolor probably makes a bunch of colors. Did you check their website? Anyone that carries some of their products has a pretty good chance of being able to order a different color for you.

i used a scotch brite pad to rough my all plastic plug cover up, cleaned it with mineral spirits, then used a Duplicolor OEM GM dark cherry color...worked fine, no chipping or anything...about 4 coats of paint

<<<<<is a noob haha, I just checkede their sight, they have a "grabber green" which they call lime green, but it's under the engine enamel, would this be ok to use? and just coat it in a high heat clear coat?

I looked at the metalcast colors, but the only green is nowhere even close to the same tint, so I think I'm just gonna do the high heat clear cloat on top of the grabber green, and use the metalcast ground coat for priming. also, for interior panels, is there any sanding/prepping needed besides probably washing and priming?
