it's called "denatured alcohol" 99.9% pure.
i'd like to add, if you're going to paint your shifter surround or the heater vents in the center, duplicolor T191 ultra silver is a perfect match. It looks great fing02.gif

DTN - Denatured alcohol is about $10-15 for a can of it... I don't think that's really necessary... although, I do have access to some denatured alcohol now that I think of it haha.gif
Lacquer thinner is also very good to use. It will clean AND etch your surface, helping your paint to stick better. Also dries very fast. I wouldn't use soap as well because it can leave residue behind.
hell yea... let's count them just within in the last 2 days.
that's like... 8 bucks. 8^)
i need rims. haha
anyway, i just did a quick DIY because majik told me that i should post it. there's a ton of ways to clean/prep/dry and all that. i mainly wanna' focus on the KIND of paint, and how to put it on.
all are fantastic suggestions though, that's for sure. way to add wisdom fellas! fing02.gif

i noticed you used quotes DTN, denatured alcohol is ethyl alcohol that has been modified chemically to make it so you cant drink it, because ethyl alcohol is the stuff that makes you feel good :-D so just pour some cheap vodka on it lol jk jk thats alcoholl abuse
The Duplicolor paint you used, is it the High Performance Vinyl and Fabric Coating??? Whats a good place to get my hands on this, I would like to paint my interior once the weather warms a bit. How many cans do you reccomend I get, would 1 do it or do I need 2??? Thanks in advance for the help.
I've been using the Duplicolor Metalcast brand on my interior. Just started painting it a few days ago. It looks really great. I love the colour (using blue) because it's the same paint I used in the engine bay, so everything matches. Also, it happens to be almost the exact same shade as my windshield wipers ( I know, you can laugh at my coloured wipers if you want. I like that rice tongue.gif ). I used a heat gun on each piece after painting to help it cure and harden, and it seems to hold up just fine.
Only thing i'm concerned about is fading or chipping since I don't think the paint is really designed for that type of material, but we'll see how it holds up after a couple months.
Oops, the point of my post!
If you're in Canada, you can get duplicolor paints at Canadian Tire. smile.gif
