Alpha_male Interior Painting - Diy
We all love your wipers.....and so does every 16 year old kid that has only 20 bucks to fix up their car. joke.gif
Point of Posting: How much do you really need to sand your interior parts, that kinda worries me....no turning back if you screw them up?

What is this "clear coat" he's talking about? I looked in wal mart and an auto store, I couldn't find anything but lacquer and enamel. One of em said it was a finish product, so I talked to the guy that worked there and asked if it was meant to put on OVER the pain, he said yes. I sprayed it in the store too...and I thought it was clear cuz I didn't see anything when I sprayed (on the shelf). Anyway I brought it home and it's yellow ?!
What exactly is this clear coat stuff called? I need to pick some up asap cuz im goin on vacation this sunday and I need my interior back in, and I can't seem to figure out what to buy owned.gif

Use a coat or two of adhesion promoter before you paint. That really helps for plastics, especially PP like the center console. Not as important for more rigid stuff like ABS, but it's cheap and really makes a difference, so I'd still use it if you want long term durability.
Don't pay extra for more than 95% alcohol. Within minutes of opening the bottle it will have absorbed enough moisture from the air that it's down to about 96% anyway.

Yellow on red is an offset color, I personally don't like it, but, that's my opinion and it doesn't count....I still give you mad props for doing a good job on the paint..I can see you didn't mess up anywhere. If it makes you happy, then I'm happy. I had my Interior painted, I only painted the center consol red, though. People ask if It came stock. cool.gif
a lot of you that have bee esssss to say about my color scheme... (especially you newbies)...
