I usually don't get upset with people driving the speed limit in the #1 lane. Sure, I want them out of my way and slower traffic should keep to the right, but there are instances where it's a Mexican driving with hands at 10 & 2, chin to the top of the steering wheel making sure he doesn't make a mistake or break the law. I feel bad for him, and I don't get as frustrated since I know he's only trying to obey the law (es la ley!). BUT... if it's purely intentional, or some jack arse talking on his cell phone and cruising 5mph under the limit, I'm gettin' a little pissy!

 

In the city I wait for a stop light, put it in reverse ( so they actually think i'm an idiot, but not move) and just let them have so of my 2.5inch exhaust. By that point people panic, when the light goes again I just put it back in gear and role away casulally.

Here it's usually frustrated soccer moms that don't know squat about what they are driving and have a general sense of uneasyness when they see something like mine hahhaa

 

Im calling BS on Stockers story. Everyone in Austin drive like pansies...OOMGGGG a banked turn that doesn't even have a warning for big trucks to slow down. WWEEEE MMMMSTTTUTUUTUT STOTOPPWEOWEOWPEOR..... as they decelerate to 5mph. I dunno what in the hell is wrong with the people of that city, but I normally start to rage based on the amount of dumb stuff I see every-time I have to drive in. How in the hell do you get stopped traffic on an elevated highway that has no way on or off... really..

I was driving through napa the other week on a 55mph road that I usually run with the cruise control on at about 60mph because cops hide out there all the time.



I came up to a 4way stop and two cars got in front of me and I quickly catch up with them then the car in front of me takes the next turn so I back off to let him turn before I get back up to speed and get behind this idiot in a Camry who starts slowing down below 45mph. So I get within 1 1/2 car links from his bumper waiting for the double yellow lines to end so I could legally pass him.



We had to have been less than 1/2 mile from the passing area when the idiot brake checks me. I backed off for a sec to see if he was just planning on turning when I noticed him watching his rear view mirror instead of the road. I started getting mad and dropped the car into 3rd and got within a car length from him so I could pass him after the next turn because there was no oncoming traffic at that time when he brake checks me even harder so without slowing I jumped out to pass him and of course he steps on it. I look to the right and he is flipping me off yelling something but my car was way louder than him so I start laughing as im passing when I look down to see my speed and im already doing 75+mph. He is still at my back tires trying to block me from passing when I look up to see a car turning onto the road right in front of me about 1/4mile ahead.



So I said f-it, that side of my car needs to be repainted anyway and turned my steering wheel as hard as I could to the right and slide back into the lane which forced dude to slam on his brakes and almost run into the guard rail as he got out of my way. He recovered and started chasing me so I kept a good 10-15 car lengths between us. I catch up to the next car ahead of me and so I passed them and watched the idiot slam on his brakes and stay behind that car so I slowed back down and put the cruise control on and never saw the loser again. B)



If he was capable of doing over 20mph over the speed limit then why couldn't he just do the speed limit in the first place or pull over to the shoulder and let me pass if it was such a problem.

 

The past week i've been behind SEVERAL people who are doing 30> in a 40.



Everyone of those bastards has waved me by.



One lady pretty much had to. i was driving to work doing 50 when she decides to turn out in front of me when im like 50ft away. There is a turning lane mind you, but she threw it right into mine.



I stopped in time to avoid rear ending her, but she never got above 20mph after pulling out. I was pissed and i think she saw that and waved me by.



Best part is, my turn was coming up so she was waving me by for about 5mins and i just stayed on her ass until my turn...cause im an ass.

Stocker, the way I look at it is I would rather run into the side of someone's car before I get involved in a head on collision and risk killing both me or an innocent person in the on coming car. I know the idiot saw the other car pull out at the same time I did so maybe he started slowing to let me back in but I wasn't paying attention to him at that time.



Both of us were idiots for what we did and it's all over now and I'm glad no one got hurt. Had that idiot not tried to prevent me from passing in the first place then all I would have done was pass him and move on with life but once he crossed that threshold and put my life in danger like that, I was ready to do what the first post in this thread talked about and was ready to pull over and beat him with a tire iron but I let him slide since we didn't hit each other.



I always think about the worst case scenario in times like that and I really had no other choice because had I tried to slow down he would have done the same causing everyone to end up wrecking.
