Keith, VERY good point, even coming down the Sandia Crest, if there is snow down at ALL, I don't even touch the speed limit.

i think some people don't realize reality sometimes because engineering has come so far. from the inside cockpit of a rally car it might seem like everything is fine after going through a bunch of bushes. the reality is that parts are flying off left and right.
i laughed when i saw a $120,000 mercades after a crash and a rich blonde woman explaining herself to the officer. i bet her husband would be very upset. i'm sorry honey, money can't fix your driving.

I've got 17+ years of driving in New England which runs the gamut of sh!tty conditions. And I've driven them in fwd, rwd, awd, 4wd and 1wd. People laughed at me when I bought a 300zx for a winter car. I laughed my ass of all winter long as I drove by stranded suvs. It's all about knowing what the cars limitations are and adapting to them to your current conditions.
I even ran the stock Michelins as my winter tire up until the winter before I stored my Tib. I never got stuck or lost control.
Just be careful kids.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (kb5133 @ Aug 5 2006, 05:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>A good driver adapts to the conditions. If you think you can whip around corners doing 45 under all conditions, then you are not a good driver. Look at your original post. That about sums it up. It ain't the car.</div>
I'm going 45 on a 55 MPH highway. A highway where the average speed drivers go is 75 MPH on a 55 MPH highway. The highway where I'm the slowest driver , even on turns , except I"m the only one that slipped.

Well, there's another solution if you don't belive it's your tires.
Eat.
Go eat a bunch. Some kimchee, rice, bulgogi, you know, get a bit fat. You'll never slide.

^^^ Speaking of being overwieght(Me). Could it be my rear shocks? When I was in the Navy, i loaded my tiburon full of valves and now my shocks are leaking a bit. you can hear a thud during moderate shock.
I thinks its yur driving... Possibly...
I put my stock rims and tires back on during winter, and they work like a super charm, as for rain W/ my Kumhos they work really good also. But low Pros and snow, Its almost indescribable on how bad the handle, I tried to turn around in a cultisac I was serisously goin 5 mph, and I ended up in a snowbank.

If your hydroplaning that means you are driving in wet conditions. If you are doing a "normal" turn in wet conditions, then it's your driving. I'm not saying it's all you. The car plays a part. Set your car up with the best wet handling tire on the planet and if you still take a corner in the wet like you would in the dry you're going to slide.
I'm not saying you suck as a driver. I'm just sticking up for the Tib's handling ability when controlled appropriately..
