GC is like the 4chan of cars

To be honest, I've never actually been on GC. Some forums are more honest than others, which is fine, but discouraging to noobs. I think the mods would have a lot on their collective plate, considering the immense growth in the GC community. Moderating all those people who are new to modifying and/or new to cars would be a tough job.

Lets just hope that it doesn't go the way of HP, I'd say most of the 'casual' owners will start to taper off in the next few years, leaving us with a more dedicated and mature user base.

Well I stopped reading all this thread after page 2, mainly because its the same BS. Someone has experience with an a**hole GC owner, and suddenly all of us GC owners are a**holes.

I am one of the nicest people you will meet, and would help you out even if you drove an Escort. Blumagic said it best, what happened to car guys just loving cars?

I used to own a Tiburon, and I traded it in for a GC. Still have mad respect for the Tib because as it was said earlier it was a car whos design was way beyond its performance. Still was a beautiful car, that was fun to drive.

Volosters are not going to be the fastest cars on the road, but damn I bet they are fun as hell to drive, and they look cool too.

There are douchebags in any car scene, just find the cool ones and then you all can make fun of the douchebags regardless of what you drive. It's more fun to ridicule in numbers anyway.

Yeah the community as a whole could use a lot less attitude. Being a GC owner I have to actually agree with the OP. There are a lot of pompous know it all little piss-ants that own a GC. Now I say that based solely on those owners on the internet. You will find when you go to meets that the pompous jerks while big talkers on the internet usually do not make it out to an event, or if they do get put in their place fairly quick by the rest of us.

In the NW as stated we try to include all Hyundai's because no matter how awesome I think my car is, we are all Hyundai's and if it wasn't for the Tib, there would be no Gen. Period.

And come on, who doesn't love the Veloster?

I like the value though, and it does put the competition to shame.

Very, very well spoken. They all owe it to the Tib, but also to Giugiaro. And Wayne Bell. A lot of people don't know that Jimmy McRae and Rhys Millen BEGAN racing Hyundais.

Also well said. It wasn't designed to be a sports car to begin with, yet people thought it was because it looked like one! I'd call that a success rather than a failure!

Lol you think Gcoupe owners are bad..... MS3 owners are douchebags.... in small numbers but if you get a group of us together then we magically become the most helpful people you'll ever meet.

I am a GC owner now and I haven't changed  I still have more respect for stuff like an accent hauling ass than my out of the box quick car.

to me..i think it mostly comes down to..i have a v6 or a turbo, more power, better handling, bigger wheels,

kind of the same arrogance as some v8 or vtec owners,

i don't know if gen coupe owners tend to be condescending on purpose or they just become so cause they think they have a real sports car as opposed to the hyundai's of yore 16 years ago.

there are good owners and bad owners, enthusiasts who know their cars compared to people modding their cars for pure looks and raw power with having no driving or mechanical knowledge,

i can say plenty of stuff thats negative about the gen coupe into the owners face but i'll keep that knowledge to myself.
