Oil Pressure Mishap
How exactly did it break on you? is it a mechanical gauge? are you using nylon or brass tubing for the oil feed?
as for the reason the fittings are brass it is to protect dumb people who like to strip bolts. Brass will strip before steel or aluminum this way you strip just your fitting and not a port in your engine

It's an electrical gauge made by FAZE. I have had it installed for about 4 months now. I was driving and it just snapped off.
OT: I haven't seen you on in forever PJ, how are you?

I contacted FAZE, they are gonna work it out. Here is what they said...
First I'll need to get your shipping address and phone number. We will send out a Fed Ex air bill to you and have the gauge returned to us for evaluation.
We'll need the gauge, any adapters or fittings installed - including the pieces of the broken fitting, and any other parts included. If it was a mechanical gauge, we'll need the tubing. If it was an electrical gauge, we'll need the sending unit as well.
We'll need to make an examination as to how or why the gauge failed, and if the failure was due to a defect in the materials or workmanship. If so, then we will have our insurance get in touch with you regarding the cost of damages.
We apologize for the circumstances, but we will work with you as best we can to resolve this situation.

I think it sounds good, as long as they back it up and actually help you out. Seems like good customer service as long as they keep up with you and it works out for the best.
(sorry Jason, get me some FAZE gauges wink.gif )

I am going to expect more than a gauge. If that is all they try sending me I am contacting a lawyer. I installed the gauge exactly as the instructions stated and could have potentially seized my engine. If my wife had been driving it would have definately been worse. She would have never noticed the oil.
LOL, how long will the evaluation take??? Are you just supposed to drive around with a hole in your engine until they decided it wasn't their fault and make you buy a new one....I mean come on it costs them less than 10 bucks to make the thing. It would be worth CS since the gauges haven't been around that long just to give you one....that is just my opinion though. wink.gif
