I have a funny story about oil pressure gages.. and why I do not like mechanical ones. My father's old firebird had an aftermarket gage... we were going down the highway when an internal seal failed and it started to fill with oil before beginning to spray everywhere under the dash on the floor and his legs..

Well, here is an update. I bought another type of EZ-OUT, get it in there tight, start turning on it, and it snaps inside the fitting. GRRRRRRR. So, I try getting that out and have no luck. Then I get to looking at it and see that it pretty much sealed the hole. I jammed as much JB Weld type stuff in there that I could and made a nice JBW cap over it. Should be good to go.

seriously.. if that was not a pressurised port, I would not worry too much.. but as you are dealing with hot oil AND pressure.. I would have it done right.

I agree, you don't want to be hauling down the highway and suddenly see a chunk of gauge, EZ-OUT and JBW come ripping through your hood or fender followed by a short burst of oil then ......worst case scenario....fire. That would most definitely suck!!!!
