Haha. I love making cops, and authoratative figures in general, look stupid. When they deserve it.

Got my first "skateboarding ticket" not too long ago and went to court. My plan was to ask why skateboards were not allowed to be used on city sidewalks but bicycles and rollerblades were? But in court I come to find out that bikes aren't allowed either.. "it's in city code". So I asked the cop why there were bicycle racks strategically placed around the city..

My case was dismissed.

I've been pulled over once in my tib for a blown taillight. the cop didn't even run my license or registration, just gave me three days to get it fixed and was on my merry way. I got pulled over more in my 1993 mercury tracer.

P.S. I religously drive 10-15 mph over the speed limit in my town. Milford is a pretty small town though and all the cops wave to me as I drive by. I kind of stick out when I drive around here.

When you get pulled over you:
Turn off the car
If its dark, turn on your interior light
Make your hands visable via in the interior light or both out of your window
Have your Liscense/Registration/Insurance card in your lap
Be polite and don't question him.

I've gotten off with 4 tickets by using this method. Last time i only had an expired insurance card and still got let go.

This was with a mega wing on the back too, which has been modifed to not look 'ricey'

California is a bit different tho...

I live in NY and i see PLENTY of modified cars...just a different scene.

Theres actual "street racing" going on every night in cali and thats why the cops are segregating 'racers' as anyone who drives a modified car. Unless its a mustang then they'll probably give you an escort lol

I think its funny that right after my monster post I had someone ask why I was mad at the cops, lol. I'm sure opinions vary based on family involvement with law enforcement, past experience, etc. I'm not sure about anyone else out there, but while I'm minding my own business, just driving down the street like anyone else, when I get pulled over, set on the curb in the heat, and miss an appointment, all before anything even pops up to the coppers, I feel that the coppers did me wrong. I clearly understood what was going to happen before it did (about getting my car taken), and that part wasn't what pissed me off, as I created the problem and had to answer for it. What makes me mad, is that these guys decided to pull me over just to see what I was up to.

I look at it like sport fishing. You know there's fish down there, so you cast your line, pull one up, and check it out just cause you feel like it. I hate being the fish is all. Sure I express my style in how I modified the outside appearance of my car, but does that warrant raping me of my time just to satisfy curiosity on the part of the popo? Hell no. Any recent Scion commercial shows cars being modded top to bottom appearance wise, with the catch phrase, "Become one of us, by becoming non of us." I actually dig that, and think that people showing their individual taste and style is very cool and respectable (most of the time). We're free after all, right? I'm free to hate damn near every cop I come across, so I dont feel bad about it one bit. I know some cool cops, but they're rare gems.

After it was all said and done, fines paid, and my wallet and time ravaged by the PD, I got to the Tow Yard 10 minutes before the rate went up another 50 bucks. I paid on time, got the car back after the minimum time past (24 hours) and had the car towed back to my house via AAA. As far as my strong distaste for cops in general, my history being full on disrespected solely based on my hobbies and passions (first skateboarding, then import car tuning), I always have, and always will play a nice little game with them to avoid sh!t like this. Being a know it all little punk as suggested in this thread gets you nowhere. I was nice and pleasant with both cops, and even more so to the tow truck driver who took his time in loading my car, as not to damage it. I couldn't have been more respectful to any of them. When I picked up the car, the tow truck driver went out of his way to mention just how good my attitude was through the whole thing, and he commented on how I handled the cops. The assumption that I was a little Dbag to the cops is most definitely false. Cali is just no joke, and you simply cant leave any room for harassment. If I'd have had no crack in the windshield, and my license hadn't been expired, I'd have still been robbed of the time it took for them to dig into my business, and I'd be let go once they had satisfied their curiosity. And with that....
