i would go for it. those rotors are not thin at all, about the same size as stock. thats what i was going to go with. i would jump on it as well, my only qualm is that i really want hte fsl calipers, and it doesnt have em. you might even get super lucky and have the caliper brackets line up correctly.

go at it man. the only problem i see that might arise is that they use a very small offset caliper(i opened up the pdf file), so you might have issue with clearance on the wheel spokes. our stock "hat" offset is about 23mm. that hat looks about 10mm. i would call them and get the specifics on that hat first.

Yeah, I downloaded the pdfs on Wilwood's site and made sure that everything would fit on MY wheels. I've got 17" Racing Hart z5000s so the spokes flare out quite a bit.

I'm still checking out Brembo calipers because they have the different piston sizes so that the smaller set of pistons applies pressure before the bigger ones clamp down. The Wilwood calipers have 4 equal pistons. Anyone have any input on that?

wilwood makes tons of calipers with "differential bores" to eliminate pad taper. and they are TONS cheaper. look around on wilwoods website.

also, on the hat issue, you have to understand that you are adding a caliper that will stick out towards the wheel spokes just as much, if not more than the stock caliper. not only that, but it is also further out from the center of the wheel, where the spokes start coming in to attach the the rim of the wheel. i would not decrease that hat offset at all, and with the lancer kit, it looks like you will be.

.81" width rotors. I would never used so narrow rotors. They get very easy warmed up.

About the pistons you are right Wilwood pistons are larger than Brembo. Here in Greece the majority of the cars user Brembo calipers because they are cheaper than Wilwood. They believe that willwod calipers are more racing than street product.

Oh… and a little tip. The pads for street cars are polymatrix type Q. I used type B they make an awful noise and they create a lot of dirt.

yeah, its the exact opposite over here. bremobo calipers are super expensive, and i could get the wilwood calipers i want for 125 a peice.

.81 rotor width i think would be fine. keeps rotor weights down, easier on clearances, and its right at about stock width.

About the width don’t forget that 4 piston calipers create more heat than the single piston stock calipers. My rotors are 1.10 and the weight difference Is not very big from the stock rotors.

oh yeah, definately. its really tought to say what rotor width is optimal, but most companies list .81" as street sport, and 1.1 as like road racing.

1.1 might be a good idea to consider, just make sure you get a hat with a larger offset.

Ι also know that Tar-Ox has a bolt-on kit with a 6piston caliper for our Tiburons and they fit from a 15” rim and up.

But I did not make a further research on it because the kit here in Greece costs $2500 and the price was out of my financial limits.

For the history the total price for my custom brake kit was only $800
