Hey all, I didn't mean to sound like you couldn't do it. I just was giving you a heads up. I certainly don't know of anyone getting killed doing it but I do have a friend who broke two fingers when a spring popped loose
it just so happens that i lowered the wifes elantra this weekend she finaly let me
and had a slight mishap
i have used spring compressers many many times
with never an issue never had one pop off
but this weekend after getting the stock
spring compressed and off the strut i went
to loosen the spring comp. and the top nut
sheared the roll pin and the top nut came
off it was a good thing i was going back and forth between the two cause it was after the first one was removed and nothing really jumped
but the the nut flew at the garage door and left
a nice dent (at least was not the car)
Ps:last time they were used before last weekend
helped a buddy put a lift kit on his F150
and the rear springs were monsterious and they had no problems compressing them other than
weakining the roll pin as i found out the hard way
Before i use them again i am going to break out the welder make sure it does not come off again
i got these about six years ago for 30 bucks
at local auto part store
