Allright, so in general I am not a fan of cheap ebay knockoffs, but I decided to give this strut bar a chance, because it looked to be a lot better quality then the el-cheapo ones.

The bar fits perfect. Super strong and sturdy. The only issue I had was the brackets were on the oposite ends of the strut bar so I had to switch them for the writing "factory tuned" to be right-side-up. No big deal. In fact, my fiance did that part for me cool.gif
The clearance between the bar and the intake manifold is around 4mm, so if you have an AIRRAM or possibly even the Tim modified manifold - good luck.

I purchased it from here.

Without seeing any proof I have a hard time believing that this bar is actually made by Falken Tire, but it is a very high quality strut bar and I would never buy anything different.
If you can get this one for $39 SHIPPED to the US, why buy from Kspec, and pay for shipping accross the ocean, etc.?

now, I just need to find a cheaper rear strut bar alternative....

I had that exact same strut brace on my Elantra. It worked wonders. No need to dump over $100 on a name brand bar. That was the best $35 shipped I spent on that car (other than the CAI that I bought off of TibMinn. Did your's come with a "Factory Tuned" sticker?.....LOL

Mine came with the sticker as well. So I stuck it right above all my NOS stickers - beside my 22" chrome rims.

I ordered one of these for my rd2, the auction said 00-01 Tiburons. I got it today and there are only two mounting holes on each bracket. Is that what rd2 struts are supposed to have? Or did I get the wrong part.

Maybe they sent you the wrong bar. Have a look at Kantizuni's post in this thread (post #19) about them shipping the wrong bar. Most of the front strut bars for our cars only have a bracket that mounts on two of the studs but you would think the bar you got would be the same as others got from that vendor.

Hold the bracket over the studs and see if the holes line up properly.

I ordered one of these 2 weeks ago for my 2000 it only has 2 mounting holes but it does fit the holes line up fine.

I ordered a second one last week and since they are supposed to be the same bolt pattern I ordered the one for the 97-99.

The one I just got today for the 97 has the 3 holes bolt holes in it.

I don't see why they would be different but they are.

The one for the 97 looks even stronger than the one for the 2000.

well you probably bought two different bars.. they will all fit 97-2001.. sounds like you bought the cheap ebay one and the one that was posted on here.

the one from ebay is really cheap looking, looks like the brackets are JB welded, and the bar is pretty sloppy..

the one posted on here looks like ita ALOT better. the brackets could have been made stronger but otherwise it looks like an awesome bar.

^^ *nods* Or else you got the one for 00-02. Maybe it's a different style for the 02? Who knows.
I ordered the 97-99 for my 2000, because we know that one works and looks good, from the very first post here.

^^ Wierd.
Looks like what I said. They sell a different style for the 00-02.
Lets us know if they will both bolt up to your car. They should. If they don't, then they've got some years listed wrong.
