What's the clearence between the bar and the intake mani on some other bars? An estimated 4mm seems really damn close and usually when people estimate size the underestimate so i'm worried how close it is.

Yep^^. You have to get specially manufactured strut bars made to go over or around the airram. Like this Click Me!

Nope, not even close. The holes on the OBX ones are circles, the one on mine are rectangle/ovals. Plus I think my brackets are befier.

Well, other than the holes being a different shape, it's the same bar: same overall design anyway. The brackets look identical too.

Anyway, it's a nice looking strut-brace. I'd just keep an eye on the clearance. I'd drive around with it on for a week or so, then remove the bar to see if the IM has been hitting the bar. If it is hitting, I'd consider using some washers to space it away from the IM a touch.

Let us know how you go.

I did some more looking on the clearances. 4-5mm is probably accurate. However, you should never hit the bar to the intake manifold anyways. when you torque on the engine, the intake manifold will torque down. The only way it would torque up is with a sharp deceleration motion, which isn't strong enough to torque the bar to the intake manifold, but I will keep an eye on it anyways.
I did take another look at your OBX bar - I see what your saying, it does look similar, but I would need a higher res image to say how if the brackets are the same or not. Plus, mine is polished, not red nana.gif
lol

Add another bit of review here.

The company selling these, Injected Performance (based out of Lexington, KY on a side note), have been awesome with customer service so far.

They sent me my invoice via email, with the wrong part listed. The 97-99 Bar is #20003024, while the 02-05 bar is #20003025. They were sending me the 02-05 bar. I called them up right away, and he said that the part may have already been shipped, but they would correct the mistake, and send out the proper bar that same day. Also, he said that if they can't reroute the first package back to them (if it's already been shipped out), then they'd take care of extra charges in returning it.

btw, they've got a lot of things listed under 97-02 Tiburon's on their website. http://www.injectedperformance.com

Get them to change it to 1999-2001 and I'll be impressed, the ONLY 2002 Tiburon anywhere in the world is the GK in Korea and Canadia.
