Dude for the price of a mclaren, you could have:
-a GT-R which is just as fast as the mclaren
-a spare GT-R which is just as fast as the mclaren
-$145,000 of free currency to spend on a boat, hookers, blow, and a holiday in the bahamas

Or for the price of THIS one, you could go halfzies with a buddy on a used R35 which has already been molested out of its best years.
And wind up with 4k in scrap metal in a decade. A wise investment that is not.

83k -> 4k in ten years time is not too bad.
In terms of actual dollar cost per year, that's probably less money than buying a brand new (six figure luxury car) off the lot and selling it three years later.

37k -> 150k (in 5 months time) -> x.y million in ten years time is even better.
Unless you think this will go the way of the Espada, which I highly doubt.

If I wanted to go fast in the quarter mile I would do it in a Fox body Mustang with a huge turbo V8. I could run GT-R/McLaren beating times for something like $5k total.
Did you see the episode of Top Gear America where they put the McLaren up against a NASCAR on a NASCAR track? It was pretty eye opening. I don't think the results would have been the same with a GT-R.

Can't watch TGA.
I knew Rut in HS and now he has my dream job.
Also he couldn't beat the damn Gallardo with a Murc SV.
Also, not funny imho. Proper Top Gear is the only Top Gear in my house.
I've long joked I want to start Fifth Gear America, change my name to Vicki and burn down the TGA studio.
It's a legacy thing.

You're talking about a 12C and comparing it to an F1? The 12C is NOT an F1. That's like saying because the old Ferrari GTO is worth a fortune, a used F430 is a good investment.

1994 McLauren F1 sold in 2013 would command millions (plural). The cheapest sold in the last 48 months I could find was $930k
1994 Nissan Skyline GTR sold "state legal" in the US market can fetch a price as high as 30k, but the savy shopper can find "state legal" models for under 8k.

1994 price = $198,000
2013 price = $93,000
There is no way in hell that the GTR will be commanding 50k in two decades. Same point, less extreme case.
