^that's awesome, about time those come out! They're so much cheaper and easier it's hard to understand why those don't come factory. i heard they're going through a legal process and most manufacturers have gotten permission to produce led taillights but are still in developmental stages.

true. but for the roadster crowd, there has never been anything better in a "turbo coupe form" than Gcoupe. hmm... i agree with the downgrade portion but let's also take into account teenagers and college teens who would normally get wrx and evo's will probably consider the cheaper turbo coupe. there's sales stolen.

the 2.0T might appeal to some (never all) luxury/muscle guys for fuel economy, or maybe the wives car? i think size, comfort, quality of the car that is the biggest factor out of anything and that is where the coupe delivers the most. i don't think people would be buying it if it was any smaller or nimbler.

but i see where you're coming from though. but i mentioned that because in the straight city (try traffic & stoplight infested NYC) people are not interested in big engines. let's face it, the world isn't getting any larger and the human population has doubled in the past 50 years and this shapes the way buyers think about engines and i expect the Coupe to reel in a good handful of the luxury/muscle guys.

the g35/370 crowd is a given! they will hate us forever because we can match them and be cheaper and more practical, and fun.

At the shop a couple of days ago, the owner, fletch and a couple of the workers were talking about the GCoupe and about how "bad" they are. Those guys are muscle car and truck guys. If they're talking about them like that, then Hyundai must have done something right.

I don't think we'll take much away from the AWD crowd. They've got some pretty hardcore enthusiasts.

I don't think we'll take much from the infiniti owners, they like their status symbol. However, some may have trouble paying for that extra $15,000. I've always wanted a G35/G37, and have test driven them a few times. I can't wait to compare the Coupe.

I think it'll definitely be an attention getter, and more popular among the younger generations (18-30). Hopefully the tuning drive will continue to prosper, as I see the Genesis having MUCH more of an aftermarket following (body kits, performance, suspension) than the Infiniti.

Being a RWD 4-cyl is a huge step in getting some real tuner interest.

Coupe/sedan front end swap?,IMO,looks to flashy on this drift machine...,maybe on a diff coupe??

Wow! I don't even know what to think of that, it's definitely not bad looking, better than the stock coupe front.

I don't think it'll go much higher than 15psi. Boost is already unable to keep up with the engine over 5400rpm. Keep in mind, a Mustang dyno loads the drivetrain, so that's probably a best case scenario for boost production. I'm guessing on the road, boost will probably drop off about 500rpm sooner.

welp they're here alright. i saw the my first gen coupe on the road which lead to a call to the local dealer which led to me test driving a yellow track-pack 3.8 auto!

i of course didn't run it through it's paces w/ the sales-guy in the car, but i did get it beyond 70mph very quickly. well as i felt it, the needle moved to 70 but it didn't feel like the car moved to 70 that fast-... it didn't have that "break the headrest" acceleration that my tib currently has. likewise, it doesn't have the pry your teeth from the steering-wheel braking that my tib has (even w/ the brembos). the pedal was stiffer and had less play but it didn't have the stopping power. maybe this is because the weight difference? i felt the interior was absolute crap-... for some reason if there is no way to hide cup-holders the it makes my blood-boil and my skin hurt. the trunk seemed useless (even though it's not that kind of car). the handeling was one of the finer points in my book-... it seemed to corner pretty flat and stiff. the steering was direct and nimble but did require a bit more umpf to turn than it does in my tib.

so my conclusion is: $20k-30K i'd rather put it towards my tib-...

An auto, I wouldn't expect it to be fantastic, I've heard no complaints about the 6 speed though.

The trunk is gynormous, but the opening is a bit small to get a body into I must admit. I LOVE having open cup holders for all the time use, our cupholders in the tib are almost unusable.

open cup holders are fine for trucks and utilitarian vehicles-... but for sports cars or sport compacts, they always seem to be a catch all for straw wrappers, pennies, and a 1/2 pack of gum. i believe it's much more cleaner to hide that crap. it screams "my car can do about 1/2 a g on the skidpad before my dr. peper is on the floor"-... just me i guess!
