Hi everyone,

I'm interested in buying an entry-level turbo kit for a 1999 Tiburon (2.0L beta I engine). The engine is stock, so I'm only looking to push about 5-7 PSI out of the turbo. If anyone has a complete kit that will be fully compatible, I'm interested. Not looking to spend more than 2000$.

I currently have an offer for a nearly complete kit for 1300$, but I'm not 100% decided. If I can find a complete one for around the same price, it would be perfect.

Thanks,

Nick

You will not find a new complete kit that will bolt on and work reliably with 5-7 psi for $2000 let alone $1300. If that was possible, half of the people on here would have that..

Socks kits dont include shipping to Canada. My offer still stands of $2200 canadian for my complete kit.

I paid $2500 US for it so it's a deal already, and I still will offer to meet you half way. But I can't go any where close to the price you are looking for.

Yeah, your offer is still pretty tempting, but it's just a bit too expensive and a hassle to get a custom downpipe and proper tuning done. Another guy on the forum is willing to sell his more complete kit for 1300$ shipped. I'm just a little worried the offer is a little "too good to be true". I found a website called Jattus Peformance that sells a stage 1 kit for around the same price as your incomplete kit. I just don't know if the kit is compatible with RD1 Tiburons yet.

The Jattus kit sounds nice but know that Stage 0 (almost $2000) and Stage 1 ($3000) are both non-intercooled, and Stage 0 has no fueling.

The $1300 kit.. it's possible if it's a used kit, but I doubt it includes any kind of fueling at that price

ok... i can get you anything you need to turbo your car, but Ds kit will be your best bet.. all topnotch parts, and hes selling it for cheap... his kit is my stage 0 kit + the upgrade to an HKS BOV. also has the black IC piping instead of silver

also, on this 'more complete' jattus kit that your talking about.. the stage 0.... it doesn't come with an intercooler, slim fans, BOV, coolant lines, injectors, etc...

if your talking about his stage 1 kit.. its 2900$ +100$ to the US, doesn't come with a BOV, or BOV flange. also doesn't come intercooled.. the cheapest 'complete' kit on that site is 3500+ 100$ to the US and you are in canada.

and if those prices are still to much, i do offer a kit that will get you started at 1950$ shipped in the USA. I realize you are not in the USA, so we could work something out. Only thing not brand name would be the turbo, but i have other customers using the turbo without any issues. very high quality chinese turbos.

kit would come with... turbo, cast-manifold, bolt on Intercooler (21"x6"x2.5" core) kit with BOV, oil feed and return lines with fittings, air filter, slimline fans, 32lb injectors,DP flange, boost gauge. then you would need to fab up a downpipe (~150$) and your car would be on the road and boosted. you would later wanna add on fuel management at the least, and possibly an FPR kit.

would basically be this kit with a different turbo. wouldn't come with turbo heat shield as radu purchased that after the kit.

Nick, these guys are not trying to make you buy something you dont need. since you are new we dont know exactly how "mechanically inclined" you.
if you ask anyone that builds motors or does racing as a hobby they will tell you if you skimp on parts because of price, you are going to end up with troubles down the road.
possibly even spending twice as much down the road cause you went cheap is something we try not to promote here on this site.
