The Rev-A was in 1997. THIS IS WHY YOU WANT A 1998 1.8l ELANTRA OR TIBURON ECU!!!
If you get a 1998, you won't get a REV A ecu, unless the person swapped that POS in there.

I wouldn't risk it. Did you go to car-part.com? I'm guessing not...
Lowest price on I saw, if that's too high, forget about any mods.
