I believe the price is listed at $2900 on Alpine's website.

how much are we looking at for a supercharger for a 98 tiburon?
1.8L/2.0L 0L (`96-`03) Hyundai Tiburon/Elantra Supercharger Kit...$2600

The $2900 that you must be thinking about is probably for the 2.7L application...

steve, you said "we are re-engineering the turbo kit with a new upside-down "U" flange cast piece...and are looking at changing over to our Aqua-cooler"

--any chance of you guys keepin the air-to-air intercooler instead?

im also praying the high flow cat is with the kit as well.

Well...just got back from the SEMA Show, where everyone was talking about the "new guys" on the block...us!!!

We had a great show, and the interest in our products was literally overwhelming! We have been approached to build applications for Toyota, Kia, NISMO, Saturn, Honda, the new 3.9L T-Bird, and many others as well.

Our new engineer starts work this Friday (was the R&D guy at Vortech/Paxton), and we are expecting our Toyota 1ZZ test vehicle to arrive next Monday to begin development on the Aqua-cooled turbo kit. I'll keep you all posted periodically as the development progresses on this and other applications.

More good news on the warranty front! After talking with our insurance broker, we have now up'd our aftermarket warranty to "3-Years / 36,000 Mile Power Train Warranty", and will offer an extended warranty (for about $180-to-$200 extra) that will blanket the factory warranty! This would only be applicable if your vehicle has less than 50,000 miles on it, and would have to be inspected and certified at an "authorized" installation facility (could be your local Hyundai dealer!!). Before you start asking, this warranty will not cover any upgrades. However, any upgrades from Alpine would still be covered under our warranty!

I know there is a lot of info to sift through, but most of your questions I've already answered have been posted on this forum already and would ask that you please read through all of this thread before asking your questions. I'm spread pretty thin right now, and am trying to answer questions on about a dozen different forums now, all the while answering the 50+ e-mails I'm getting daily (plus they actually want me to do some work around here too!!), so will do my best to try and answer your questions in as timely a manner as I can. I do try to answer e-mails the same day, so if you have an urgent question, please e-mail me direct.

They are getting me a new flat-top high rez scanner later this week, and should be able to post up dyno charts on the Import Racer Magazine's Tibby, and should be able to share HKS's results as well.

skierd...

I'll keep you posted here on the development of the 1.6L Accent Supercharger. I should have smoe more info by the end of this month.

-=iQfOreVa=-...

If you change the injectors, you void our warranty. Once we get several of our immediate projects finished, we will look into devloping "upgrades" for these kits, which will NOT void the warranty!

VerdeShark98...

We will probably offer the existing kit as an "off-road / for race only" package, then offer the same version with the cat (read more expensive), and then offer the same kit with the Aqua-cooler (also more expensive).

Thanks again for all of your enthusiasm and we look very much forward to getting these applications to market as soon as possible.

Here's the latest on the warranty front:

All of our non-CARB approved applications carry a "1-Year / Unlimited Mileage" warranty against defects in materials and workmanship (unless otherwise specified). Any omission or addition of parts, deviation or modification to our kit from its original intent, design, and installation instructions, or any additional modifications that may affect the performance and reliability of our kit as intended, will void this warranty.

We are still hammering out the fine print at this point in time, but anticipate having a "3-Year / 36,000 Mile Power Train" backed by Dell Financial Services (same people who back GM's warranties) in place before the end of this year. A Dell Financial representative or an "Authorized Alpine Developments Installation Facility" will be the only ones who can sign off on this. This may include and cover "official" upgrades from Alpine Developments . Details on this will be forwarded to you when this has been finalized.

Even more good news...we will be offering an optional "extended warranty" on the basic kit (no modifications at all) that can be purchased at the time of purchase of our kits, or up to 90 days after purchase of our kit, that will match the remaining factory power train warranty as long as the vehicle has less than 50,000 miles on it. (The price for this will vary depending on the length of the factory warranty being matched, but don't anticipate it being more than an extra $200-to-$300.) The details of this are not all set yet, but as with the other warranty, will have to be "signed off" by a Dell Financial representative, or "Authorized Alpine Developments Installation Facility". We should have all this in place by the first of the year, and should be available to existing owners prior to it being available! Unfortunately, any upgrades (even our own "official" upgrades) will not be covered by this extended warranty package. Again, details on this will be forwarded to you when this has been finalized as well.

Oh... and because of the warranties, and increases in overhead, we will have a $200 retail price increase on all of our applications starting January 1, 2003 (Sorry!)

Guys...sorry about not replying to this, but I've answered this in two other threads...

No new news to report yet! We're still trying to sort out the program on the Unichip, and are trying to simplify the kit more. As soon as we have any news, trust me, I will post here for you all!
