thanks for leaving your input on this!!! We did already talk on the phone about this... but as a note to everyone...
The USB scantool needs to have the USB drivers loaded and assigned onto the laptop/computer properly for it to work (since we are converting USB into a COM port) at the same time you have to let the scantool program/software know on which COM port the scantool is assigned to.

ps...love my hid's.....finally installed them..haha..the harness didn't work for me though...i must have mixed it up with my friends kit for his nsx.

I've been running this elm327 for years now! it's great. However I can't say the same thing about the operating system. I only use this computer for my elm and since Microsoft keeps pushing out updates, the boot time has slowed from about 3 minutes way down to 16 minutes before proscan can do it's thing with the elm327 and my car. I am considering moving this laptop to a Linux platform instead of windows and I was wondering about scan software. Is there any which you have heard any good things about for Linux?
