Default Reprogrammed ECU

Question: How do you reprogram a stock ECU for a turbo application? What kind of "tools" or equipment is needed? What part(s) of the wiring that will need modifiction for the reprogrammed ECU?

you can't reprogram a stock ecu. It's not flashable and therefore its permanently fixed. The only way you ecu to support a turbo is to either use a piggy back controller or replace your ecu alltogether with a stand alone.

Well, the stock ecu CAN be reprogrammed, but not using any common tool; Hyundai makes a specific tool for that (sorry, don't remember the name, but Bjurr, Denisst78 or Red would probably remember) and supply pre-made maps; the only problem is that no one knows, beside Hyundai, how to "make" a map to update the ecu, you have to use one supplied by Hyundai. But I heard a guy in Korea was able to understand the existing maps and make new ones, but that's not a sure fact.

So I guess from a doable point of view, you can't reprogram the stock ecu, but from a technical point of view, it's possible.

It is possible to reprogram the stock ECU and we have the tools to do it.

We are currently exploring them and working out some tuning maps and such.

I know a few companies in Korea (all of which we work with) have the capability as well.

WE at REAL CO. also known as Speed Mind in Korea have supplied to all of those companies you've visited including DTM (Kim Tae Ha)and Power Best. We have 90% market share in Korea selling re-program tools.

We've posted some informations in HP forum once, and our topic was close instantly. I hope you don't post commercialize issue in our own forum unless it is in other forum's in Hyundai Aftermarket.

I've also heard from Car Tuning Magazine's editor that someone from XX company visited Korea and told they are selling $10,000 worth of Hyundai parts daily on-line. I am sure it is typo errors.

We have same tool as what Hyundai is using from Sxxxxxs Co. Because this tool is not sold to public, I want race-real to comment them later. race-real is invited by a company in Florida to make specific protocals for specific cars.

The stand alone ECU covers up to 400hp without any piggy back execpt for those engine hardwares.

As many people know from this forum or NT.com forum, we already start selling our re-flash ECU to customer who owns V6 both automatic or manual.

Ready for immediate sale for following applications:

All year Hyundai Tiburon, XG, late model Elantra and Santa Fe. For older model, please contact smnextek@ccarman.com for more detail.

Mitsubishi Laner Evolution (all series including current Lan Evo VIII U.S. spec.) Will have Lan Evo VII shoot out in popular magazine for ECU partner with local company, since Evo VIII is selling from Feb. or little earlier.

Nissan Silvia (SR-DET) eingines and all Skyline GTR's.

Subaru Impreza, WRX and STi.

HONDA expect to complete in 2 months. Since Korea do not have Honda cars other than grey market cars imported from USA ( a few ), we never had a opportunity to test it.

With our new electrical engineer came from Korea yesterday, we are speeding up the process to make a module for end user to download himself/herself by pushing single button to re-flash tuned program via OBD II diagnostic port. Easy as cake. 1 month time is expect to complete designing sofware and hardwares.

For turbo cars, we will be a solution partners soon to a few companies in USA. As we have specific contract made, we will be posting in this forum for update.

Please follow this link for more picture of actual re-program tools we offer. Althoug they are in Korean temporary, some will show pictues like real time emulaters etc.
For retailer or performance shop, we also be offering single count module using window 98 version to log on to our site and download re-programmed ECU to notebook P.C. and forward to its customer thru our scrambler module as single count.

Aisa model doesn't need wire modify.
You can reprogram your own ECU.
