Default A quick rundown please

CNK or Chris (I believe that is your name), I've been reading for the past weeks the forum on your turbo kit for the Hyundai Tiburon 2.0L. I've also have seen many people that I know (from the FXTreme days) and I don't know go back and forth aruging power gains and parts and what not. At the moment I'm not really concerned with the power figures, dyno charts, etc. (although some would argue I should be). What I would like to get from you is a COMPLETE PARTS LIST RUNDOWN of what comes with the kit and for what price. I've noticed that every week or so, I see you come out with a new part and you say that this part is going into the kit, and another is going out of the kit. I can understand that kit parts change because of new technologies and discoveries, and I can live with that. What I'm asking from you Chris (and only you <hint, hint>) is just a listing of what you expect to come with the kit and how much. No power figures, no promises, no claims, just let me know what comes in the kit and how much you are charging.

Now this is directed towards EVERYONE ELSE NOT NAMED CHRIS. I do not want your posts on your "opinion" of the kit, your "opinion" of CNK, or your "opinion" of Chris. If I wanted that I can just go look through the backlog of posts in this forum alone. I am asking Chris this, and Chris alone, so for my sake, and for the sake of clarity, please don't post anything in here if a)You aren't Chris of CNK and b)you don't have the information I require. Thank you in advance. smile.gif

Kidd --

Here we go - Firstly the kit is called the CNK 300HP Turbo Kit - it has no part number just known to us here by it's name.

Right the kit includes this:-

1) T3/T4 hybrid turbocharger (.63 turbine housing, stage 3 T3 shaft, CNK360 thrust washer, dual cooled center core, CNK colour coded annodized turbo backplate to your colour choice, T04B AR60 comp housing with Super V comp wheel) Includes free ram air tube
2) CNK Low compression pistons with rings and big end bearings 8.5 to 1 CR
Handles up to 300HP --- Yuri has made 258WHP with no problems!
3) CNK Polished stainless steel exhaust manifold (316 grade S/Steel)
4) Steel head gasket - not to do with lowering the CR AT ALL --- just a better quality gasket I include compared to the cork ones!
5) CNK Down/Pipe - CERAMIC COATED
6) CNK External Wastegate (8PSI)
7) CNK Intercooler
8) CNK BOV
9) CNK colour coded charge pipes (annodized to your colour choice
10) CNK ECU solution - pre-tuned for 220WHP @ 8psi
11) Silicon connector hoses and clamps
12) Water hose to and from the turbo center core
13) Steel braided hose with teflon inner for turbo oil feed
14) Power steering pump cooler with hoses ( to relocate behind the bonnet brace for place for the intercooler)
15) Silicon vacuum hose for all the vacuuum pickups and BOV connection, Wastegate connection etc
16) CNK polished 76mm (3") Tail Piece with CNK logo blasted on
17) All miscelnaneous fittings and screws, mounting brackets, bolts nuts etc

I hope I haven' missed anything here.

One last thing, the kit supplied at 220WHP will runon the stock clutch as long as you don;t abuse it!

The cost for this kit as it stands above (until I add to it again FREE OF CHARGE other components) is $3250.00 INCLUDING shipping to you!

Another thing --- just for the record, Since the re-birth of CNK from the company split - NOTHING has been removed from the CNK 300HP Turbo KIT excpet the injectors, as they are now a discontinued item at the manufacturer. I have ONLY ADDED parts to the kit's list ...

Thank you for your timely response. I have a couple of more questions.

1) Is this kit "ready to ship" right NOW?
2) How much is shipping? <--Nevermind to this question, I just saw your answer above. wink
3) How long on average would it take to get here (say California)?
4) Does this kit come with any instructions (video, printed)?
5) Would a person (say like Random or Red) have any trouble installing the kit themselves? What skillset would you suggest a person have to install the kit?

Thanks in advance for attempting to answer my questions.

Question 2)SHIPPING is included in the price like Chris said
3)You will have to pick it up at your nearest Airport and give Chris all Your info.It usually wiull take 3-5 days to arrive
4)Yes it comes with instructions
5)I recommend getting it installed at a shop since your motor has to come out and the Block has to be honed before you install your new Pistons

Hope this Helps!

Thank you 2 UNIQ. I guess I only have one question left then. I guess Chris is the only one who can answer that for me.

One note on question 2 to be careful.

When we got our order and picked it up at the airport they were trying to make us hire a broker to take care of the import duties and such. Check with your airport beforehand for their policies on such shipments. You might have to get it shipped to another airport or make other arrangements.

When I got some misc turbo stuff from Chris (custom downpipe, adapter plate, and some other goodies) I went through the same thing at customs. Lucky for me the guy didn't want to convert Rand to US $, so he took my word that it was only $50 of parts smile.gif

I did have to pay $20 to get it through the freight company though, but they said they charge that for every shipment.

Took about 2 weeks from final order to arrival, but that was more to the custom nature of the order than the shipping time.

When i ordered my strut bar from Peformance Styling Centre (australia), it came to my local post office and i picked it up there. Maybe you should try sending it through the post office and avoid customs all together since USPS is exempt from many of the customs hassles.

for a package of that size, I was told that the only way to store that package was through a holding area.

I had to pay 30 dollars total to pick up the package as well.
