6k has a better output and the color is more white.

9k has a more blu tint to the light. this also lighten the amount of light present because of the tint.

(thanks, rd1tib... for the explanation)

Rare Rolla,

As it was mentioned before (POST# 68 & 69 of this thread: http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtop...29&st=60)...
QUOTE
The 9000K is bright white with a dominant blue tint; now as i have said, the intesity differs from angles, distances and orientation of the view (looking at it head on, from the side or from the back). Now, the blue tint is only a touch of it... it's not too blue or dark blue at all.

Now, the 6000K is a REALLY bright white light with no tint to maybe a very very slight blue only in some angles, but it's like its not present at all!!! This color temperature is a very safe choice if you are still torn with this decision.

I have sent you more info regarding this (including pics) your PM box along with other helpful goodies, check it mail.gif!!!

on to another note (speaking of 6000K).... here are some new pics

My silverstars finally burned out today so it gave me the opportunity to put them on right after seeing my silverstars and they are seriosuly 20x better! Easy install, great product, and Great looking Lights! Thanks Again!

Hey Jay... uhm.. my drivers side HID won't shut off, sometimes.
And it's coming on randomly. I noticed it earlier this morning, they were on when I left the house. When I got to work, they shut off normally.
So I checked when I got home from work to make sure they were off before I went inside, and they were off. But my roommate came home a couple hours later and said my lights were left on. I went outside, and sure enough, drivers side light was on. I could hear a buzzing coming from the ballast. I just pulled the bettary terminal off to shut it off, and the buzzing made a kind of click-click-click-click really fast before it died. Reconnected the battery and it stayed off.

I'm kinda worried about it now, because I can see a bead down the center of my headlight housing where the plastic has actually melted. They must have been on all night long, probably for a few nights, with me in bed not knowing about it. I've disconnected it now, because I have no idea how long this has been going on.

So, I won't have time to check anything out until the weekend... any tips from anyone on what the hell is going on?
