A'PEXi N1 catback system for Jan. 2001 RD2
Beg away,
Thanks so much Rick, I think this is really the best catback ever made for the tiburon to date. We'll compare them with the others soon enough.
Ok guys, I got the baseline Dyno with the car, I'll be getting the new dyno on Monday. Then I'll post both for before and afters.
One thing you will need to install this with no modification, is a cat with a 3 bolt flange, actually the cat has 3 studs coming from it that the first section bolts right up to.
The Coolest part about this kit is how it hangs on the car, THE ONLY angled exhaust for us to date! This thing looks great, and hangs PERFECTLY the way the hangers are stock.
The only thing everyone will for sure need to add is a bung hole for the 2nd O2 sensor. So go get that thing done by any muffler shop, should be super cheap, and a quick job. There is a possiblility you will have to extend your 2nd 02 sensor wires. I did on both sensors because I used the 97 1.8L semi header which uses no front cat and the first sensor is located directly under the engine, then my second 02 sensor is directly after the cat, I'll take pics of where the bung is added to help your muffler shop out.
Enjoy fellas, Multiple posts to follow.

SOUND CLIPS!!!
Finally some sound clips besides MBRP
OK, this one is when the recorder was right next to the exhaust and I revved it up in the car, so it sounds a bit more high pitched than it should, but whatever, its a sound clip:

This one is just the sound of the system at Idle, its just purring for 30 seconds:

This one is inside the car, its just in regular traffic at varried speeds and RPMs, the recorder is on my girls high quality digi camera so its a bit quiet but just TURN IT UP!:
http://www.haloz.biz/real/vary.WAV
This one is getting on the freeway at higher speeds:
http://www.haloz.biz/real/good.WAV
And this one is a failed attempt at getting on the freeway, I started flying up on the car ahead only to see it was a tiburon, RD1, and it had a sick stock silver paint job, but I'm swearing at him so be advised, lol.

yea looks great!
two questions....
1. if im reading correctly rd1's are 2 flanged and rd2's are 3 flanged? I have a 2001 tib so what has to be done to make this exaust fit?
2. This bung hole for the 2nd O2 sensor almost any exaust shop should be able to do and the hole is actually made right into the exaust right?

it does now,
Yeah any shop can do it, just have the catback installed before they set it in so the 02 sensor is angled right and isn't crooked.
Get under you car and see where they cat is, look at the part where the cat bolts to the piping that runs to the muffler. If its a triangular 3 bolt flange, you're fine, if 2, you'll have to have it modified by a shop, but it should be as simple as them slapping a new flange on the end.
