Interior:
Strip interior, including all sound proofing & sunroof
Disable door locks
Strip door internals
Remove steering lock
Remove aircon and blower fan units
Fit Roll Cage
Fit fire extuinguisher system
Fit ally panel over sunroof hole
Fit Racing seat & harness
Fit new switches
Make new switch panel
Fit cut-off switch
Fit aftermarket blower for a bit of demist ability
Mechanicals:
Remove air con system
Remove cruise control system
Remove standard radiator fans & cowling
Remove thermostat from cooling system
Remove washer bottle and replace with washer bag (lighter)
Remove unused fuses and relays (140grams saved) :icon-biggrin:
Remove wheel arch spats
Remove one of the tow eyes at the front (1/2kg saved)
Change gearbox oil
Give engine basic service
Fit braided brake hoses
Fit uprated suspension
Fit series approved brakes all round
Replace power steering drive belt
Change front suspension top mounts (rubber's perished)
Change noisy front wheel bearings
Change brake & clutch fluid for Dot 5.1
Cut exhaust back box off and replace with straight pipe
Move battery from engine bay to inside car
Replace n/s rear brake caliper
Replace front to rear brake pipe on n/s
Replace ARB drop links all round
Replace both front lower wishbones
Body:
Remove standard bonnet / boot catches & cables
Remove excess weight from bonnet (about 4kgs)
Fit bonnet & boot pins
Remove rear wiper system
Remove rear spoiler & fit series approved spoiler
Remove front fog lights (used 1 as cold air feed)
Sort slight rust on both rear arches
Prep & re-spray
Fit rain light
The above was done during the original build, since then I've changed the gearbox as lost all gears and have spent this closed season building a fresh engine ready for the 2014 season. Engines have to stay within Hyundai specs for the standard 2.0l and no aftermarket/evo cams or other tuning is allowed.
