started to tear down the engine bay. as i am going along, i am labeling each hookup and taking down sizes of bolts for grounds and assorted other tie down pieces. once the A/C lines and the P/S lines are out i can get the rest of the harness from the passenger side over to the other side

tonight i will be working on recovering my seats while watching some TV for once, lol.

total hours invested so far: 28.5 hours

Update:

since I am having to wait till May 20th to get the car in the shop for the bodywork to be complete (which the new body shop owner told me I saved myself roughly a grand in bodywork by doing it myself, w0ot!) I decided to work on some of teh other interior stuff that i have lying around so it will be ready to go in when the time comes. I've been working on reskinning the seats for the past couple days (not fun to say the least) but here is a teaser pic.

Yes, they are seat covers for a RD1 but they fit on the RD2 seat cushions.
will show the rest of the seats when i get them done. I will also be working on my A-pillar triple gauge pod which is almost done. Letting the 2nd coat of hardener to dry on the FG.

that antenna is so not needed. and yeah another rd2 spoiler off! great work. i'm really impressed.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!! fing02.gif fing02.gif fing02.gif fing02.gif

with only two guys in the shop (the owner and one employee) i am sure for most people this may be slow, but i dont care...the quality is what i wanted in the end. FYI, in the first pics that showed the massive amount of bondo on the driver's side door that was ixnayed. they took off all the bondo and pulled the dent out, along with several others that the first body guy thought bondo was easier than actually doing REAL bodywork.

if you can not tell in my type that i am really happy with the way the bodywork has turned out so far, lol, you need therapy or else i may join you in the end of all of this, HaHa!!! nana.gif nana.gif

he was just getting ready to work on this side when i showed up. missed watching him primer the rear by ten minutes, oh well.

i wasn't for sure if i would like the spoilerless look since i have a type-r wing sitting in my apt. i have a type-r wing now for sale, lol.

hmmm...looks like i need to invest in a glass mount antennae, lol.

I have to take the LED hyundai emblem into them tomorrow so we can find out if we need to fill holes or completely fill the badge area on the hatch.

that is all for now.

If only it was a spoilersless RD1, that would be even better. I'm sure bodywork is costing you a pretty penny.

if i owned a RD1 it wouldn't even have a hatch, would be a truck conversion. yeah yamaha, it is...but i will be the first person to admit i totally fail at it. i'm sure if i had some time before i started on this i would have done it all, but i have no experience at it.

maybe if i get a RD1 i can learn on that.
