By the way, I forgot to mention my current engine mods :
- Pipercross Viper (probably the best induction system ever made cool.gif )
- TB coolant bypass
I gained 20hp with the Viper and bypass, pretty nice huh?
Stock power was a bit crappy, only 122hp (air filter was pretty dirty, loool)
Anyway, here's the Dyno, it's in portuguese but you'll get it anyway lmao.gif
P.S: 1 cv = 0,9863 hp and 1 Nm = 0,73756 lbf.ft
So my car is now with 144 hp and 139 lbf.ft

Here are some pics of the Viper intake! If they're not good enough, I can take some more, loool!
SOCKS, I don't agree...this intake gave me 20hp, no way an AEM would give that much power! Besides, it costs almost 3x the AEM!
Yeah, the cold air feed could be nicer, but I don't care, it performs really well and keeps the air cool with that carbon fiber heat shield cool.gif

eh, im not gonna argue with you about it. if that 'intake' system cost 3X the AEM CAI cost, i am sorry you bought it.
i highly doubt that intake TRULY gave you 20whp. our cars don't even have 122whp stock, its more like 100whp stock. i would assume that dyno is off.
also, that CF heat shield isn't doing much for you. the filter should be located in the fender well anyways.
the way that dryer vent is bent and the corrugated style of it is just plain bad for air flow. so the way your intake is setup is: dryer hose, filter, stock tubing, TB whereas the AEM has the filter RIGHT behind foglight hole, going into a mandrel bent, powdercoated, aluminum pipe. The only way the AEM would be better is to have one less bend.

The numbers on my dyno are from engine hp, otherwise I would have stated it as whp...dunno the actual numbers on whp...
I'm not saying that the AEM CAI sucks, just that my Viper performs very well. That setup was installed by professional tuners and it was the one that gave better results! You can't compare it with a CAI because it's a dynamic induction system. Which is best? Someone care to lend me an AEM so I can do another dyno? loool.
offtopic.gif If I lived in the US that would be easy, dunno any tiburons here with AEM CAI...in fact, there aren't many 2.0 tibs in Portugal 02.gif
Why? Cause our cars are expensive as hell...too many taxes
Just for you guys to know, a 2.0 GK costs 32000€ and the 2.7 something like 40000€, that's 47000$ and 59000$ in your currency....damn, I wish I lived in the US...if nothing else, just for the price of cars and fuel..
So here, for the price of a tiburon 2.7 and some change you can buy an Audi TT 2.0 TFSI with 200hp...
